TWO of Aldi's Wexford-based suppliers have struck gold at the prestigious international 2015 Great Taste Awards in London.

Enniscorthy based Green Valley Farms won a gold star for Aldi's Specially Selected Irish Farmhouse Yogurt - Strawberry and another gold star for Aldi's Specially Selected Irish Farmhouse Yogurt - Raspberry, while Camolin based Irish Country Meats won a total of five awards, picking up a gold star for each of Aldi's Butcher's Selection Boned & Rolled Lamb Leg, Butcher's Selection Boneless Lamb Rump Steak, Butcher's Selection Lamb Rack, Specially Selected Premium Lamb Rack With Rosemary & Garlic Crumb and Butcher's Selection Full Lamb Leg.

Aldi picked up a total of 62 awards, more than any other retailer in Ireland. Aldi's product range has now won a total of 240 Great Taste Awards in the last six years. Aldi Ireland's Group Buying Director Rob Farrell said the 62 awards demonstrate the outstanding quality of the many Irish producers and suppliers the chain works with across a wide spread.
