Bliss visit to put Crafty store on map
WEXFORD craft store Crafty has been chosen to receive a visit from special guest Debbie Bliss this October for an event that is expected to attract major attention to the store.
Crafty, on Redmond Road, opposite Dunnes Stores, is one of three businesses in Ireland who will welcome the renowned knitwear designer and author this October. According to Diane Condon, the event is set to give them a great business boost.
'Our store was picked on recommendation of a sales rep,' she said. 'It's going to give us huge recognition. It really will put Crafty on the map.'
Tickets are already flying out the door for the event, which will take place on October 6. Due to a huge amount of interest, the store has had to limit the number of guests.
'We had to make it a ticketed event as there were so many people interested,' said Diane. 'There are 200 tickets on sale.'
Visitors can expect book signings and a meet and greet, along with many other activities aimed at keen craft-lovers.
'We will have some competitions for the best Debbie Bliss garment, where Debbie will choose the winner,' said Diane. 'We will also have a fashion show involving the customers with some exciting prizes on offer.'
Diane expects the day to be a great success.
'Debbie is meant to be really down to earth so she will make it a good day herself,' she said. Tickets can be bought for €5 in store, with all proceeds going to Wexford Hospice Homecare.
Debbie Bliss is a key figure in the craft industry, with over 30 years experience. She was recently awarded an MBE in the Queen's 2015 Birthday Honours List for her services to the craft industry.
