Cork City Lord Mayor, Chris O'Leary hosted a civic reception last week for the Cork Irish Hotel Federation's Employee of the Year, Wexford's Lauren Hogan, of Oriel House Hotel, Ballincollig, where she is a trainee manager.

Lauren joined the Talbot Hotel Group, Wexford, on the waiting staff in 2013 and in 2015 progressed onto a Trainee Management Programme, in Tralee IT where she is currently in her 2nd year.

When based in Wexford, Lauren received 'Employee of the Month' twice and also represented The Talbot Wexford in the 2014 Rose of Tralee Competition. Lauren transferred to Oriel House Hotel last year and has recently moved into Duty Management there.

In March 2016, Lauren was awarded Cork Branch Hotel Employee of the Year 2015, an achievement which recognises not only her dedication to her chosen career but also the importance she places on being a customer service ambassador in the industry. It is an award of which both she and the Oriel House Hotel team are rightly very proud.

Local hoteliers, colleagues, family and friends were delighted to see Lauren presented with her award on the afternoon by Aaron Mansworth, Chairperson of Cork Irish Hotel Federation.
