Couple behind Rosslare's Wild and Native to bring gourmet food store to Henrietta Street

The couple behind Rosslare restaurant Wild and Native Fergal and Jodie Dempsey will branch out into Wexford town with a new gourmet food store on Henrietta Street.
Due to open within the next fortnight, the business will sell a selection of takeaway meals and sides made from fresh local produce. All of the meals will be prepared at their premises in Rosslare before being sold in Wexford and will only require heating once the customer brings them home.
'This is kind of what we tried to do first in Rosslare but the huge demand for a sit-down area coupled with the low level of footfall encouraged us to change it to a restaurant,' explained Jodie.
The business will be called Wild and Native Gourmet Foods, while the couple are considering changing the restaurant name to Wild and Native Seafood Restaurant in order to avoid confusion.
Customers will have a choice of meat-based and vegetarian options, along with a variety of sides. Options will include dishes such as beef and guinness stew and lasagne, while a selection of salads and a seafood counter will be introduced in the warmer months. There will also be mini desserts on offer, while anyone looking for lunch on the go will also be able to buy hot soup and coffee.
