Free travel fortnight for Wexford's child Leap Card holders
Published 07/07/2015 | 00:00
all Child Leap Card holders (aged between the ages of four and 18) can travel free on the Wexford Bus Connect services until July 20.
The Wexford Bus Connect Services include the WX1 service around Wexford town and services between Wexford and Kilmore Quay, Rosslare Strand and Castlebridge. This free travel promotion will be running for two weeks and is to encourage families and children to use public transport for their leisure activities in the school holidays, and to get out and about and enjoy more of what Wexford has to offer.
It also highlights the cheaper fares which are available to Child Leap Card holders, and serves as a reminder for families to get their Leap Cards, and to get used to using them, in plenty of time before the new school year begins.
The promotion is also being run on Dublin Bus, Luas and Dart and with other operators throughout the country. Full details on this and where to get a Child Leap card, including identification requirements for older teens, are available online at www.ChildLeapCard.ie. For timetable details and fares for the Wexford Bus Connect services see www.wexfordbus.com. 'In 2014, we had a great response to the scheme, and with even more operators on board this year.. we're confident that this year will be even stronger,' said Anne Graham, CEO of the National Transport Authority.
