Morriscastle Strand Holiday Park and Campsite hit the small screen on Sunday when they featured in an episode of RTE's hospitality makeover show 'At Your Service'.

The Gorey-based campsite was not receiving a makeover itself but instead, served as a model of a well-run holiday park for makeover candidate Curraghchase Caravan and Camping Park in Limerick. Expert hotelier Francis Brennan and Curraghchase manager Warren Higgins paid a visit to Morriscastle to get some tips and tricks on running a holiday park.

'They spent the whole day with us. We went around the park, into reception and the cafe, the touring area and the pitches. We showed Warren the different facilities,' said Niamh Darcy, Manager of Morriscastle Strand. 'He was renovating his place in Limerick and it had been years since it was functioning as a park. All of the work we have done over the years was a great way to show him what he potentially could do himself.'

According to Ms Darcy, being chosen for the show was a big compliment and an experience that she feels was both enjoyable and very positive for tourism nationwide.

'It is really good for the industry,' she said. 'It's always positive to see shows about campsites and caravan parks in Ireland.'
