CTEC - the Wexford-based Community Training & Education Centre - held an Open Day for course information and registrations at their centre in Norse Gate House, St Peter's Square, last Tuesday.

Tutors and staff were available to offer advice and information on available programmes, with the accounting technician programme, aimed at helping people secure jobs in a strong and growing market, one of the most in demand.

'There is strong demand of our Childcare courses and also for the Accounting Technician programme,' said Training Manager Rachel Tucker.

'Our new Train the Trainer award is proving popular also as it is particularly good value.

'Many of our past students have found training jobs with local organisations such as the WLD, the WWetb, Youth Train, Eishtec and the Bank of Ireland to name just a few.'

Places on all courses are booking up fast but there are still places available.

Learners at CTEC can avail of stepped payments plans at no extra cost, which makes the whole process of returning to education and training, which will help underpin future job prospects, more accessible to everyone, some learners eligible for funding from the Department of Social Protection or Intreo.

The CTEC Training Centre is located in Norse Gate House in St Peter's Square and can be contacted on 053-9121036 or by email on Details of all current courses are available on
