Wexford company ESET Ireland are on board to support three eccentric Irishmen as they make a 13,000 kilometre trip to China.

James le der Costello, Brian Gleeson and Willie Gleeson will drive to Beijing this summer in a race to make it to their friend Alan's wedding. Beginning in Nenagh, the three friends will spend nine weeks driving across the globe, all while fundraising for LauraLynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice.

On hearing about the trip through social media, staff at ESET decided to sponsor the men in their endeavour.

'We saw it and thought that what they were doing was crazy,' said Michael Browne, Creative and Technical Specialist at Reflex Distribution, distributors for ESET. 'We felt that it was brilliant that they were doing it for Laura Lynn.'

According to Michael, the lads paid a visit to the company before setting off on their travels.

'We met them for the first time before they left,' he explained. 'They spent two days in Wexford before heading to France from Rosslare.'

Since then, they have kept in touch with the men on their journey.

'They have kept us up to date on their trip,' said Michael. 'When we aren't able to speak with them, we keep an eye on their website.'

The team must reach Beijing by September 5, when Alan's wedding will take place. According to Michael, it is extremely important that they make it.

'Two of them are groomsmen,' he explained. 'So they have to be there!'

Their website wherewouldyoubegoin.com and Facebook page has been set up for those who wish to track their progress or make a donation.
