Eddie Slevin had a great love for sport

The death took place on November 7 of Eddie Slevin, Ivy Cottage, Drinagh who was in the loving care of Mary, Nicola and staff at Knockeen Nursing Home when he passed away aged 94.
Eddie was born and raised on the estate of Johnstown Castle with his sisters and brother, where his father was a Farm Steward. He moved to from there to Ivy Cottage in 1942 aged 20.
He trained as an electrician and had his own electrical contracting business based at South Main Street Wexford and employed and trained many electricians over the years. He retired from business in 1997.
Eddie was very interested in sport all his life and played hurling and football in his youth. He loved fishing and shooting and in later years, played golf at both Wexford and Rosslare golf clubs. He was also a very keen snooker fan and watched all of the games on TV.
He was predeceased by his wife Mae (Moloney) in 1972 and by his sisters Ellen Dillon, Harpoonstown; Madge and Mary Slevin, Drinagh; Birdie Finnegan, Selskar and by his brother Richard, Portarlington, Co Laois.
He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Lily and her husband John, nephews, nieces, nephews and nieces in law and their families and friends.
