Marie Butler (née Murphy), Liam Mellows Park, Wexford, died peacefully at home on Thursday 28th April 2016, aged 78, after a short illness.
Marie was the beloved wife of Liam for 49 years, cherished mother of Ann, Andrew, Jacinta, Maria, Liam and Declan and adored nanny to Lee, Ben, Adam, Rachel, Eoin, Amy, Kyle, Conor, Ellie, Luke, Sam, and Ava; she will be sadly missed by her loving family, her brother Kevin, twin brother Dick, sisters, Nancy, Sally and Monica, her sons and daughters-in-law and her extended family and friends.
Marie's life can be described simply with three words: family, fun and faith. She loved her family with all her heart and really enjoyed family get togethers, the bigger the better! She treasured spending time with her grandchildren, her 'Angel Stars' as she called them.
She loved having fun, was regularly the life of the party and was known to sing with her sisters or solo given any encouragement. She greeted everyone with a smile, was always in good humour and loved to chat. A regular over the years at all the bingo halls, Marie loved the banter with the other ladies. Marie, a confectioner by trade, produced beautiful wedding cakes for her children and her bakewell apple tarts were a real family favourite!
Finally, Marie got great strength and comfort from her faith all through her life, with Clonard church being the centre of so many happy family occasions. She will be forever with us in our hearts.
