THE death has taken place of Mai Furlong (nee Cousins) of Ballymitty, Kilmore, on April 4, at Knockeen Nursing Home, Barntown, where she spent her final years. She was 82 years old.

She is survived by brothers Tommy, Pat, Jimmy and Dickie and her extended family.
Mai was born in The Hill, Bridgetown, and later moved to Ballyharty. An avid gardener, she enjoyed nothing better than spending her time there.
She always had a great welcome for her family, neighbours and friends, from near or far, for a cup of tea and for a cup up tea and to catch up on all the latest news.
Mai was a deeply spiritual and religious woman and had a great devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes and spent a lot of time in prayer.
Funeral Mass was held in St. Mary's Church, Kilmore, and she was laid to rest in Kimore Cemetery. RIP.
Her month's mind mass is due to take place at 6.30 p.m. on May 2, at Kilmore Church.
