WELL-known retired Wexford banker Pat Farrell died suddenly while attending a dental appointment in the town last Friday afternoon.

Mr Farrell, from Colliga House, Rosslare Road, is believed to have suffered a heart attack at Wexford Dental Clinic, on Custom House Quay.

Ambulances rushed to the quayfront in response to an emergency call, but there was nothing that could be done for Mr Farrell, who was 60 years old.

A staunch GAA fan, Mr Farrell retired from AIB several years ago.

Formerly of Knockanarrigan, Donard, County Wicklow, he is survived by his wife Attracta, children Conor, Tara and Orlaith, sister Therese, grandchildren Caitlin and Leo, other relatives and friends.

His Requiem Mass took place at the Church of the Assumption, in Bride Street, yesterday (Monday), followed by burial at Barntown.
