PARENTS and families enjoyed a musical treat when they attended the end of year concert at Kennedy Park National School.

Three hundred pupils from second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth classes took to the stage and gave a memorable performance.

The show began with a musical rendition of the fairy tale 'Cinderella' by second class.

Third, fourth and fifth classes played pieces on the glockenspiels and recorders. The school orchestra, under the guidance of conductor Gerladine Mahon performed pieces including the 'Harry Potter' theme and 'Sambourina'.

The orchestra is taught by Geraldine Mahon (wind section), Heather Boxwell (cellos) and Emily Redmond and James Warren (violins).

The concert was said to have been a resounding success and a great illustration of the talents of all the musical youth at the school.
