Firework case put back for two weeks
A YOUNG Wexford man threw a lit firework on North Main Street while drunk and was then – after attracting the attention of the Gardaí – found to be in possession of a large metal blade and cannabis resin, the local district court has heard.
Roddy Frayne (21), of The Lodge, Glenbrook, Wexford, is charged with a number of offences arising out of the same incident, including throwing an ignited firework, being drunk in public, possession of a blade and possession of cannabis resin.
The Inspector said Frayne was seen throwing the lighted firework, which he described as a 'smoke flare' on North Main Street.
Frayne then fled on foot, but officers soon caught up with him and found that, on his person, the young Wexford man had a small amount of cannabis resin and a large metal blade with a wooden handle.
Judge Earley remanded him on continuing bail to appear before Wexford District Court again on March 15 next.
