BUSINESSES from all over the New Ross area descended on The Brandon House Hotel recently for a Networking and Business Expo hosted by New Ross and District Chamber supporting the Kennedy Summer School.

The two-hour expo was extremely well attended with over 20 businesses from the area represented on the day.

The idea behind the event was to show businesses and community exactly what their local Chamber and member businesses have to offer. It also aimed to give local businesses the tools required to network and highlight the importance of working collectively to drive local economic and social development in order to secure new customers.

Among the guest speakers on the day were veteran broadcaster George Hook who spoke on the topics of research and reinvention and how this leads to success for businesses. Noel Whelan, Chairman of the JFK Trust and Director of the Kennedy Summer School gave a talk entitled: 'The Emigrant Legacy makes economic sense', while Business Consultant Tony Ennis spoke on 'How do retailers plug into tourism?'

New Ross Chamber were happy with how the evening went and are looking forward to hosting similar events in the future.
