A special commemorative book to mark 50 years of education at Screen National School tells the story of all who have passed through its doors since the very beginning.

Lovingly put together by members of the Parent's Council, 'Screen School Memoirs' will be officially launched in Hotel Curracloe on Saturday October 24. Each page contains photos and stories that were donated to the committee earlier in the year. The book also details the development and progression of the 1965 school into the state of the art educational facility that it is today.

Guests at the launch night are being urged to 'be there when the bell rings' at 9 p.m. Tickets are on sale for €10 each and can be purchased through the school or in Hotel Curracloe. After the launch, school members from both past and present can mingle while enjoying finger food and musical performances. Guests can also get their hands on the book which will be on sale for €15.

Earlier in the year, the school celebrated 50 years in existence with a party in the grounds. Guests enjoyed refreshments and music before pupils released hundreds of balloons to mark the occasion.
