Shotgun accused sent for trial

COURT CASE WILL BE HEARD AT NEXT SITTING OF WEXFORD CIRCUIT COURT

Wednesday March 03 2010

A YOUNG Wexford man charged with possession of a sawn-off shot gun has been sent forward for trial before Wexford Circuit Court.

Gerry Dunbar (23), of 8 Mansfield Drive, Coolcotts, is charged with possession of a sawn-off Jabali double-barrelled shotgun, with an adapted sling, at that address on September 29, 2009.

The book of evidence was served on Dunbar by the Gardaí, Judge William Earley heard.

The judge accepted an application from Ms Lalor to have Dunbar's bail conditions relaxed so he can now sign on at Wexford Garda Station three times a week, instead of daily.

Garda Matt Kelly said he had no problem with the proposed change in bail conditions.

Dunbar was then sent forward for trial at the next sittings of Wexford Circuit Court for criminal business on bail in his own bond of € 100 and two independent sureties of € 10,000, which were provided by his father Aidan Dunbar and uncle Matthew Dunbar.
