The ‘Cut Throat Barbers’ have gathered together 11 celebrities in the hope of beating Wexford BOHS FC in a fundraising match for The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

The match will take place in Ferrycarrig Park, August 20, at 10.30 a.m., with commentary provided by Liam Spratt from South East Radio.

The Cut Throat Celebrity 11 team line-up is Stephen Hunt, Lee Chin, Mark Fanning, Larry Murphy, Larry O’Gorman, Tom Dempsey, PJ Banville, Paul Murphy, Katrina Parrock, Rianna Jarrett and Ben Brosnan.

After the event, there will be a barbecue, live music and a DJ in T Morris, Wexford from 3 p.m. until late.

Music will be provided by Ian Mocha Maloney, Rachel Grace, Ollie Dempsey, Ruben Buggy, Ian Doyle AKA ‘The Man Whom’, Colin Wilson and DJ Eoin Healy.

Tickets are €5 and are available from The Cut Throat Barbers, Ferrybank South, Wexford.

It was Maudlintown man Nicky Hynes, along with his local barber Nollaig Mac Aodha from Cutthroat, who came up with the idea for the charity football match.

Nicky Hynes’ father passed away on Christmas eve 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and he has seen first-hand the effects of Alzheimer’s, not only on the person with the diagnosis, but how badly it can affect families.

Nicky said: ‘I can’t thank everyone enough for giving up the time in their busy schedules to support and raise much needed funds and awareness for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland. It means a lot to me and my family.’
