The double-A sided single featuring Wet Wet Wet's version of The Beatles' 'With A Little Help From My Friends', coupled with Bill Bragg and Cara Tivey's interpretation of 'She's Leaving Home', was the only single release from the album 'Sgt. Pepper Knew My Father'. This 1988 compilation from NME featured new versions of all the tracks on The Beatles' 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' from a variety of artists and was released to both raise funds for Childline and mark the 21st anniversary of a Beatles album that is regarded as one of the landmark recordings of the 1960s. Wet Wet Wet's 'With A Little Help…' was not the only cover of the Beatles classic to make number one. The late Joe Cocker's version , which soared to the top of the charts in 1968, is regarded as one of the best cover songs of all time.
