Understanding the power of your green foods
Last week I mentioned the need to eat more alkaline forming foods and less acid forming foods.
But I didn't explain why. The answer is, that when the body is in a more alkaline state disease cannot thrive, disease thrives in a more acidic environment. You will also have less inflammation and pain, more energy and a stronger immune system when your body has the correct pH balance.
Your diet should be made up of about 25-40% acid forming foods and 60- 75% alkaline. If you cut out a few of these foods you can reduce acidity dramatically.
A vegetarian diet provides a lot of alkaline foods. I know that a lot of you love your meat and turning vegetarian just won't happen. But do you eat your greens -your cabbage, broccoli, spinach, and kale? And I don't mean eating bacon and cabbage once a week and thinking you have had your greens-I mean regularly.
