Dry itchy scalp, dull hair, and dandruff are common problems. If your hair or your scalp is very dry it can be a sign that you are deficient in essential fats.

These fats are found in fish, nuts, seeds, avocado and oils like coconut, evening primrose, or rapeseed oil.

If these foods are lacking in your diet then oils like Udo's Choice Ultimate Oil Blend will provide you with a variety of these essential fats. You may need to drink more water. Both dandruff and dry flaky scalp are associated with a Zinc deficiency, pumpkin seeds are a rich source of Zinc.

Dandruff can be a truly embarrassing problem. Nobody wants half their head on their shoulders and to be constantly checking for white specks. Causes for dandruff include using harsh shampoos, fungal infection, excessively dry skin, and possibly Zinc deficiency. Tea Tree oil shampoo is the most commonly used shampoo to treat dandruff and also has anti-fungal properties to help deal with the fungal infection.

If you have dry itchy scalp, check your shampoo. Choose one as natural as possible. Quality brands include Aubrey, Urtekram, and SOS which are gentle and have no harsh chemicals.

Pure coconut oil massaged into the scalp is also very good to relieve dryness. Massage it into the scalp and hair and leave for at least twenty minutes before washing out. Customers love it because not only does it help with dry and itchy scalp, but it's also great for the condition and shine of their hair.

Hair dyes may also aggravate your scalp-so choose natural colours like Naturigin or Naturtint they will be kinder to your hair and scalp. Henna Hair colours are also great for conditioning the hair and scalp.

Supplements that can help include: Natural Nordic Hair Volume which will help if you have a combination of hair loss and hair that is generally in bad condition. It includes Horsetail, Biotin and Zinc all important nutrients for hair and scalp.

Horsetail can be found on its own which is great if your main concern is hair loss. Combine either of these supplements with a quality oil like Udo's Choice Ultimate Oil Blend to provide you with essential fats and you are well on your way to having beautiful hair and scalp.
