Wexford Has Talent announces judges' panel
Wexford Has Talent has announced a panel of 11 judges who will help performers through the audition stages and Wexford Has Talent Semi Finals and Final.
The competition, which is sponsored by the Wexford People, is open to all and all manner of talents and it is entirely free to enter with a cash prize pot of €2,000 for the winner.
Coming on board for this year's show are of judges and MCs including well-known personalities from around the county:
Tony Carty - All-Ireland winning singer/actor with Wexford Light Opera Society and Oyster Lane Theatre Group; Cllr George Lawlor - who has played the lead role in a number of Wexford Light Opera Society musicals, David 'Stoney' Burke - Former Wexford and Kilkenny hurler and Star performer with St. Michael's Theatre Musical Society and New Ross Pantomime Society;
Pat Lawlor, Carmel Corish-Wallace, Sue Furlong, Ian Grey, Biddy Walsh, David O'Brien, Vicky Clancy and Anita Murphy.
During the 2016 competition all acts will be placed by a judge's vote only and no audience paid voting will take place. The open auditions will take place on January 9 and 10 acts can pre-register for an audition place or they can arrive and register on the day also, however those who register online in advance can reserve an audition time.
From this audition process a shortlist of between 24 and 30 acts will go forward to take part in the live audience semi finals at Clayton Whites Hotel on January 16 and January 23 and 12 of these acts will make the finalist list to perform in front of a live audience at the Wexford Has Talent Grand Final on Saturday, January 30 at Clayton Whites of Wexford.
Tickets to the semi finals and final event will go on sale from late December.
