ALL BLACKS
First up last weekend were the u-10 girls away to Fastnet Rovers in the second round of the cup and suffered a defeat by their neighbours. The u-14 girls travelled to Curracloe for a second round cup game and once again the home side progressed. Well done to all the girls who took to the field on this wet Saturday.
The schoolboys kicked off an afternoon of games with the u-11 boys scoring a 72 victory at home to Corach Ramblers. Having gone a goal down the boys found their shooting boots with a Christopher O'connor hat trick plus goals from Rory Cassidy, Sean Carley, Jason Devereux and Cealan Ward goal which is surely a contender for goal of the season. Everyone on the panel played at some stage and well done to all who played their part. The u-14 boys suffered a heavy defeat to div.1 outfit New Ross Celtic with Emmet Doyle bagging the only goal for the Blacks.
Sunday was another busy day at Casey park with the mens first team losing to Wexford Celtic on a 3-0 scoreline and Killenagh beat the second team 7-0. Better news for the ladies team in their Etchingham cup first round game verus Fastnet Rovers. As Fastnets pitch was deemed unplayable the game was switched to Casey park and two second half strikes from Kim O'connor and Roisin Furlong were enough to see the All Blacks into round two. This Sunday sees a local derby when the mens div.1 side take on Rosslare Rangers at 11.30am in Rosslare harbour while the second team must travel to take on Gorey Celtic B in round two in the Billy Browne cup at 1.30pm.
