Well done to the Beavers who took part in their first hike to Kilbride Wood on Sunday 29th January. At 10 to 11 on a very wet morning 25 eager Beavers arrived , an unbelievable site, what a turn out, the excitement was visible in both scouts, and children alike. Following roll call splitting into their lodges after the photo shoot (thanks Arnie )
The rain was not going to dampen their spirits , the Rabbits chant could be heard all over the woods. The hedgehogs welcomed the new member to their lodge, Spring the frog. The Otters discussed what deserved a place in their memory bags, one of the beavers showed his extensive knowledge of stones, We thought at one stage that we had lost the Foxes as they were last to arrive back for lunch but they were just laughing at each others jokes.
The golden Pine cone challenge was no big feat for our beavers with them all returning with more than one cone in their possession. A very big thank you to all the Mams and Dads (Taxi Service ) for their prompt arrival and pick up, The service ran like the hike without a hitch. The first of many more to come.
