Multi-coloured night

MADONNA made a comeback in Screen last Saturday night as the locals dressed up for a charity fundraiser. Freddies in Screen provided the venue for the '80s for Haiti' charity night, which raised over ¤2,500 for Concern's relief effort in eathquake stricken country. According to Patricia Fielding, who was one of the Screen Street Party Committee who organised the event, it was a fun night and everyone entered into the spirit of the occasion.
'Freddie Mercury was there and there were a couple of Madonnas,' she said adding that neon clothes, and glowsticks made for a multicoloured night.
DJ Nigel Quaid also pumped out the 80's power ballads, while a De Lorean car - famous from the Back to the Future movies - was also an attraction at the fundraiser and brought people on spins around the local countryside.
'It was a great night. Most people dressed up, and those who didn't put on wigs and sunglasses and got into the spirit of the night,' said Patricia.
