Murrintown Community Childcare Centre is open Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 6pm daily. We cater for all children from Murrintown and surrounding areas from 4 months - 13 years. Sun. 1st April, Tues and Wed. 3rd and 4th April and Good Friday 6th April at 8pm each night. Tickets for Opera House cost ?25, with €20 concessions for senior citizens and children, and can be booked at 0539122144. Tickets for the Camross event, organised by Camross Passion Play committee, will go on sale in early March at a cost of €10.

DANCE

Dancing at Camross El Paso will provide music for the March dance which will be held on Friday March 2. Dancing from 10 p.m. to 12 midnight, adm. €8 inc. Tea.

PARENTS COUNCIL

We would like to say well done to all of the children from 4th, 5th and 6th class who recently entered into the Piercestown District Credit Union Schools Table Quiz and came away with great results and should be well proud of themselves.

From 4th class there was Cormac Mcgrath, Adam Boylan, Shauna Dunne and Terese Redmond. From 5th Class there was Katie Murphy, Ricky Gaynor, Rian Redmond and Aaron Hanley. From 6th Class there was Eoin Allen, Neil Kelly, Dylan Colfer and James Hanley who came 3rd and Rory Kavanagh (5th class), Clodagh Dee, Luke Lacey and Luke Boylan.

TAGHMON TOPS

Taghmon tops group will be holding a cake sale on Saturday February 18 from 9am to 12pm in the village square.

CAMROSS ICA

Camross ICA had their monthly meeting on Monday February 6. A large crowd attended. There was a packed agenda on the night.

The guild will participate in the museum exhibition which will be launched on 2nd March. Some members are joining the IT classes to brush up on their computer skills.

The President Breda wished the forth coming Passion Play the best of luck in the Oprah House and in Camross.

Bridget Kennedy demonstrated her dry flower arranging and crocheting using plastic bags to make lovely covers for flower pots, baskets and flower wreaths, they were absolutely lovely.

The winner of the nicest bunch of snowdrops was Breda Banville. Prize winners were Margaret O'gorman, and Breda Banville. To conclude the meeting a lovely tea was provided by Mary Kelly and Breda Nolan. The next meeting will be on Monday March 5.

TAGHMON ICA REMINDER

Next meeting this Wednesday February 15 in the Scout Hall. Open to everyone at 830pm. Killowen Foods will demonstrate their products. All welcome.

Men's Shed: The men are starting to equip their shed. We are looking for donations of tools and equipment, particularly for woodcraft. Any donations would be greatly received.

Arts and Crafts All members had a most enjoyable afternoon flower arranging and wreath making with Audrey from the Family Resource Centre on Wednesday. Craft will continue on Wednesday 15th February, 2012.

Chair Excercises We kicked off our new year chair excercise this week with Valerie, which was thouroughly enjoyed by all. Valerie will be back again on Tuesday 14th February, 2012

COMMUNITY GAMES

Indoor Soccer U13 Our girls gave a very good performance in Bunclody on Sunday last in their first attempt at indoor soccer loosing 1 nil to a very strong Bree team. There were 8 girls on the panel of which 6 are underage again next year Our Team were Mairead Nolan, Kaela Redmond, Emma Clarke, Caitlin Nash, Annie O' Gorman, Niamh Lacey, Aideen Winters and Michelle Carthy.

On the day the girls showed some excellent skills and determined and will be a force to be reckoned with next year.

Thanks to Pat Redican who managed the team and all involved on the day.

TAGHMON'S DIVISION 6

Men's Doubles League Team put up a great battle against Terreath on the 6th February. Their were some great three set doubles. The result was a 5/5 all draw. Well done boys. Team M.J. Dunne, Declan Carroll, James Carroll, Ryan Cogley (Brandon Cogley). On the 16th February Taghmon's Division 1 Ladies will play Shelbourne in Taghmon. On the 21st February the 6th Division Men's Team will play New Ross at home. The U17 Inter County competition will be held in Baldoyle on the 26th of February.

ST. PATRICK'S PARADE

TABLE QUIZ

Danescastle Music Group are holding a table quiz as part of the fundraising for the Leinster Fleadh which will be held in Enniscorthy on July 13-15, 2012, the table quiz will take place in Carrig Community Centre on Wednesday February 15 at 8.30 p.m. table of four €40, teenagers €20 all welcome and refreshments served.

Michael Coffey (Wexford Bridge Club) will continue with Bridge lessons in the centre on Friday next, those lessons will improve the playing levels of those attending and make their game more enjoyable, be there for 7.30 p.m.
