CARDS

The intrepid partnership of Sean Allan and Sinead Kelly struck again as they won the partners '45 in Hotel Curracloe this week. Cards continue every Thursday night at 9 p.m.and all are welcome.

GAA

Well done to the Shels minor footballers who captured a sixth Jim Byrne title in a row. The Starlights made a strong start but two Tony Smith goals steadied the ship after good work by Kevin O'connor & Stephen Mcguire put the on form Smith through. Goalie Sean Byrne saved the Shels on several occasions whilst Neal Rossiter (capt) Simon Donohoe (man of the match), Adam Whitmore, James Cash, Graham Staples as senior players led by example. The ended the match on a 3-9 to 3-6 scoreline. Eoghan Nolan is wished a speedy recovery from his injury. The team consisted of Sean Byrne, Glen Malone, Simon Donohoe, Eoin O'leary, Eoghan Fitzgerald, Eoghan Nolan, Evan Devereux, James Cash, Graham Staples, Stephen Mcguire, Adam Whitmore, Colin Cleary, Neal Rossiter, (C), Tony Smith, Kevin O'connor. Kevin Byrne as sub for Eoghan Nolan who was injured. On the panel also were John Forde, Conor Forde, Conor Howlin, Stephen Carr, Aaron Ryan, Aaron Murphy, Jody Donohoe, and Mark Mythen. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Shelmalier Coiste N'OG annual general meeting was held recently in Hollymount. The following officers were elected:Noel Feeney (chairperson) Eamonn Manley (Vice-chairman) Donal Power (Secretary) Padraig Coone (Assistant Secretary) Bobby Delaney (Treasurer) Ann Forde (Assistant Treasurer) John Banville (Child Welfare Officer) Coach & Development Officer: Martin Doyle (Coach and Development Officer) Sheila Roche (PRO) Myles Doyle (Assistant PRO) The officers look forward to another season and welcome all new players and parents.

There was no winner of the Shelmalier GAA jackpot for Sunday, February 6. The numbers drawn were 9, 19, 21 and 26. There were three match 3 winners and each received €67, Breda Curran, Ballyvaloo, Mary Healy, Wexford, Jerry Murphy, Blackwater. The next Jackpot is €13,400. Curracloe United AFC had no winner of their jackpot on Sunday night last. The numbers drawn were 5, 12, 15 and 19. There were 4 match 3 winners who received €75 each, Margaret Murphy, Ebbtide, Curracloe; Jimmy Howlin, Screen; Brenda Neville, Dromalainn, Coolrainey, Curracloe and Sonny O'leary, jnr, Curracloe. Next weekends jackpot stands at €8,250 and the draw takes place in the Tavern on Sunday, February 19.

COLLECTION

A church gate collection taken up at Curracloe church on Sunday last for the Wexford Mental Health Association amounted to €325. Grateful thanks to all who subscribed so generously.

TLT CABARET

This years annual cabaret takes place in the Talbot Hotel on Friday, March 9 and the evening gets underway at 9 with John and Marty. MC for the occasion will be George Lawlor who will introduce you to the rest of the entertainers, including Brendan Keane and his band, Chris Berry, The Lawlor family, Alice Cant Turn Left (from Dublin), Tony Jeffers and Route 66. DRAMA

The Bridge Drama group will present 'Portia Coughlan', by Marina Carr, in the Jerome Hynes Theatre, Wexford Opera House, this coming Thursday/ Friday and Saturday, February 16/17/18. VINTAGE CLUB MEETING

The Over The Water Vintage Club will hold a meeting in Freddies of Screen on Wednesday, February 15 at 8.30 p.m. All are invited to attend.

SCREEN SCHOOL

Anyone wishing to enrol their child for September, 2012 should contact the school office on 053-9137142 for the relevant forms which must be returned before March 16.

Thanks to all the avid gardeners who are undertaking huge planting work at the moment. Well done to the boys and girls from 5th and 6th classes who triumphed in a Tag Rugby blitz held between the local schools on Monday, February 6. That same evening, teams from 4th/5th/6th classes competed in the annual table quiz organised by the Credit Union where one team were winners in their category and are now through to the county final.

Thanks to all who attended the Parents Association meeting which took place recently in the school hall and also to all who supported the table quiz held in Freddies of Screen. The school is closed for mid-term break on Thursday and Friday, February 16/17 and will re-open on Monday, February 20.
