Bree AC News
Bree AC affiliation fees are now due as the first part of the county championships takes place in Enniscorthy on Sunday, 3rd May and the second part is Sunday 10th May again in Enniscorthy.
Bree AC traveled to Ferrybank AC Open Sports in Waterford recently with some great performances recorded. U8 Leah Bolger 3rd 60m, U10 Abby Doyle 3rd 80m, U11 Sean Rowley 2nd 80m, U13 Darra Casey 1st Hurdles, Katie Whelan 1st Hurdles, 2nd 80m, LJ, U14 Sophie Codd 2nd, U16 Brandon Sinnott 1st 800m, U17 Aoife Cloke Rochford 2nd 100m, 2nd Junior 100m. Last up on the day were the Relays. U11 Oisin Rochford, Sean Rowley, Shane Doran and Ryan Whelan 1st and U15 Sean Rowley, Darra Casey, Leon Sinnott and Darragh Rochford 3rd. Well done to all involved.
Bree Davidstown Community Area athletic finals take place in Bree on Friday 8th May. Please note a change in date as entries must be registered online by mid May. The county finals take place in Bree on 13th June.
Many thanks to all who assisted with the annual spring clean which was held on parish roads over last weekend.
Bree CEP is currently recruiting applicants for positions as Childcare Assistants on the project to work in Bri Beag Childcare.

Best of Luck to the Bree Macra Volleyball team who will take part in the national finals in Kilkenny on Sunday 26th April in Kilkenny. Team members are Michelle Allen, Aine Doyle, Marie Doyle, Mark Waters, Stephen Donohoe, John Healy and Damien O'Neill.
Bree Macra members attended the Wexford Macra UBET night on Saturday 11th of April in the Bailey, Enniscorthy. There was a good crowd in attendance with all of the Wexford clubs represented and even visitors from neighbouring Carlow and Wicklow clubs. DJ Locky Murphy, from Tullow Macra, presided over the UBET challenges and provided plenty of humour and good music.
Wexford representatives for this years Miss Macra, Queen of the Land and Miss Blue Jeans were also selected on the night by the judging panel of Locky Murphy and the Leinster Vice-President Elect, Odile Evans. A great night was had by all.
The next event on the club calendar is the Mr Personality Festival which will take place from Friday April 24th to Sunday April 26th in Kilkenny.
The Committee of Galbally Sports & Leisure Club thank allt hose who supported their Table Quiz in Ryan's last Friday night.
Dynamic Kickboxing Academy are holding a Cabaret night in the Big Tree Lounge on Saturday next the 25th of April at 8.30 this is part of the fund raising drive to help send some of the members to Hungry in November. Only two more weeks before the Parents Association in conjunction with the Holy Family Primary school host their fundraiser fashion show in the Riverside Park Hotel on Thursday 7th May.
We have been kindly sponsored by many local businesses and the celebretey local models on the evening will strut their stuff in clothing from Shaws, Pamala Scotts, Helen Deeth, Villa, and New Look.

First Communion this year will be celebrated on 9th May and as usual, the St. Patrick's Church Choir will enhance the ceremony by their rendition of suitable hymns. As a preparation, choirmaster Seán Hallahan and organist Monica Mae will hold a choir practice on Wednesday 22nd April, in St. Mochua's Chapel, beginning at 8pm.
Newcomers are always welcome to join the choir and of course, all regular and former members are asked to attend.

Congratulations and best wishes to Patsy and Vicky Stafford (nee Dunne) on the recent birth of their twin boys, Conor and Ciarán. Similar good wishes are extended to Noel and Chloe Carton (nee Kenny) on the birth of their first child, Joseph and to Bill and Breda Murphy (nee Bolger), Clonroche on the birth of their first child, a daughter, Eve.
Oulart-The Ballagh GAA has three adult teams (Senior, Intermediate and Junior) involved in league and championship and all three are doing well in the leagues and busy preparing for the upcoming championships. The 3rd Round of the All County Hurling League will take place on the weekend of 26th April. (Check official fixtures for exact details or enquire from players or team officials).
The 1st Round of the 2015 hurling county championship will take place on the weekend 2nd/3rd May. Oulart-The Ballagh seniors will play Shelmaliers in Bellefield on 2nd May. The following weekend, 10th May, they will play Faythe Harriers while on 24th May they will meet Shamrocks in the 3rd Round of the championship. The 4th Round of the ACHL will take place on the first weekend of June. A busy and interesting Summer beckons!
Model County Draw
The Annual Model County Development Draw, with a prize fund of €100,000, will take place on the last Wednesday of April, May and June. The first prize each month is a choice of three cars, each to the value of €15,000. The other prizes, from 2nd to 45th include valuable cash prizes and shopping vouchers etc.
Oulart-The Ballagh along with all the other clubs in Co. Wexford will benefit considerably from the sale of the tickets. Players and officials have tickets for sale at €50 each or you can pay in monthly instalments of €20 (April), €20 (May) and €10 (June).
The club appeals to its members, former members, players and supporters to buy a ticket from a local promoter and so help generate necessary funds to help Oulart-The Ballagh achieve its ambitions, on and off the field. Anyone wishing to purchase a ticket may contact 086-1686978.
Ballagh Boxing Successes
Congratulations to Aaron Kirwan-Doyle on winning his second All-Ireland title and to Liam Walsh who was also successful in the National Stadium recently. The officers, coaches and members of The Ballagh Boxing Club are proud of these talented youngsters who are following in the footsteps of many former stars of the club.
Church Gate Collection
St. Patrick's Special School, Bohreen Hill, Enniscorthy, which caters so wonderfully for young people with Special Needs is holding its annual Church Gate Collection in Oulart and The Ballagh on Saturday/Sunday 2nd/3rd May. Your usual generous response is anticipated.
camogie Dinner Dance
Oulart-The Ballagh Camogie Club will celebrate the wonderful achievements of its Senior Camogie Team (winners of the Wexford, Leinster and All-Ireland Club Championship) at a Dinner Dance in the Riverside Park Hotel on Friday 24th April, beginning at 8pm. Tickets are available from officers, committee and players or by contacting Bridget on 087-9142899.
A trial walk/run will take place on 1st May and the official Walk/Run takes place on 17th May. Josie Sinnott's team are holding a BBQ in Pierce Redmond's Pub, Raheenduff on 3rd May. "Split the Pot" organised by John Sinnott's team continues in local shops and pubs. Place €2 in an envelope that is provided, write your name on it and place the sealed envelope in the bucket. A draw takes place on Fridays with one winner from all the buckets combined.
Scoil Mochua Notes
The annual School Spring Clean will be held on 22nd April from 11.10am until 12.20pm. On the following day, April 23rd an Internet Safety talk, for pupils from 4th, 5th and 6th classes will begin at 1pm to be followed at 8pm for a talk for parents. The new Infants, due to start school in September, and their parents/guardians will be welcomed at 10am in the Infant classroom on 24th April. The First Holy Communion in Oulart will be held on 9th May at 11am.
Readathon: From April 20th-24th a Readathon will take place in Scoil Mochua. The aim of the Readathon is two-fold: to encourage recreational reading among children and to raise funds for replenishment of school library stocks. The pupils will be seeking sponsorship for the Readathon.
The parents' Association of Colaiste an Atha, Kilmuckridge will hold their annual Coffee Morning in the lounge of The Crosses Pub, Kilmuckridge on Friday 1st May, from 10am until 12 noon. Tickets are available from the College reception during school opening times and also at the Crosses, on the day. There will be lots of door and raffle prizes as well as delicious confectionary. Your support would be greatly appreciated by the whole school community, all of whom are appreciative of the involvement of the Parents' Association in many positive aspects of school life.
Friday 24th April will be the last youth club night in the Community centre until September, from 8.00pm to 10.00pm and the supervisors for the evening are David Parker, Seamus Whelan, Ann Marie Nolan, Anna Mai Conroy, Tony/Betty Moulton and Karen Hill Burke. There will be a committee meeting at 9pm.
Disco: The year will end with a Disco in Bree Community centre on 8th May. All members attending please bring in €10.00 on Friday next.
Carlingford Adventure centre: 28 Members are travelling to Carlingford for two nights 1st-3rd May where they will experience Hill walking/ Canoeing/Archery/ and lots of other activities, all are looking forward to the trip.
Awaketon: The Awaketon on Tuesday last was great fun for all, members undertook baking/nailpainting/line dancing and had a great feast of pizzas and the 106 muffins which they made.
Confirmation will take place in Oylegate church on Thursday 30th April at 2.00 pm.
Oylegate National school is now taking Enrolments for September 2015 please call to the school for a form ASAP.
Epilepsy Ireland would like to thank all those who contributed to their recent church gate collection and to those who collected. The amount raised was Oylegate-€212.97 and Glenbrien-€165.03
Church Gate Collection
The annual church gate collection for Our Lady of Fatima special school in wexford will be held on the weekend of 25th and 26th April. All support for this very worthy cause would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks to everyone who came along to our Easter Egg hunt on Easter Saturday. A great day was had by all. Many thanks to all the helpers, and to people who sponsored eggs or made buns/cakes for the day!
An American style tea party will be held in the Community centre Oylegate on Friday 17th April. Anyone looking for tickets for the evening should contact Eamon Mernagh, Graham Rowley or MJ Reck. Tickets are €20 each and this is a fundraiser for the under 14 Feile football team. All support would be greatly appreciated.
GAA club Lotto
There was no winner of the lotto jackpot held in The Slaney Inn, Oylegate on Wednesday 15th April. The lucky dip winners were Anna Mai Conroy, John Shiggins, Jack Hayes, Tommy Rowe, Peadar Moulton, Eddie Hogan, Brian Doran and Mark Kavanagh. The next draw will be held in the Mernagh's Lounge Oylegate on Wednesday 29th April. Tickets cost just €2 each available from club members.
The football season has started and the training times for the following teams are as follows: U-12's on Wednesday's from 6.30 to 7.30 in Ballymurn; U-14's on Monday's & Wednesday's from 6.30 to 7.30 in Ballymurn; U-16's on Wednesday's from 7.30 to 8.30 in Ballymurn; Adults on Wednesday's from 7.30 to 8.30 and Saturday's 6.30 to 7.30 in Ballymurn. These are the times generally but sometimes they will change and managers will inform their teams if this arises!
All new members are welcome, either call to the field on training evenings or contact club secretary Ann Doyle.
