soccer news

Taghmon United added a second Cup to its trophy cabinet for the season after our U16's defeated Enniscorthy Town in horrid conditions. Lashing rain greeted the players for the duration of the match as Dylan Colfer, Shane Lacey (3) Pete Murphy and Eoin McLoughlin all scored one apiece to ensure the victory. Jubilation at the final whistle was greeted by all as the rain was forgotten about and Captain Eoin enlightened us all as he delivered a poem in his acceptance speech which he thanked Eugene & Podge and his teammates for making his dream come true.

Meanwhile our U14's swept St Leonards aside with a sublime first half display on a glorious morning in Horetown. Adam Sinnott opened the scoring while Martin Roche (2) Aaron Hanley and Adam Williams saw Taghmon effectively close the door to earn the three points. The whole team put in a great effort with Bens Kinsellas hard work and graft deserving a mention. We have one match to go in this league campaign against Shelbourne at home on Wednesday evening and depending on other results we are still in contention of finishing in the top 3.

Enrolling for the FAI Soccer Camp in August is in full swing and a link on the Clubs facebook will assist you. Places are limited so enrol early to avoid disappointment. All action photos and Club news on the Webpage.
