There was no winner of last week's jackpot of €3,600. The winning numbers were 1,7,22,23. Congratulations to the 12 match 3winners who each receive €25. The winners were, Tom Kennedy, Golden Oldie, Josephine Kavanagh, Denny Kenny, Roche Family, Mary Culleton, May Barnwell, John White, Tina Maloney, Paul & Caroline Kehoe, Peter Colfer, Noel Dempsey. The next jackpot stands at €3,900 and the draw will take place on Tuesday 12th May at 8:30pm.
First Holy Communion
Congratulations to all the boys and girls who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday 9th May. Well done to all the children and the teachers and staff for all their hard work.
The next dance in Carrig on Bannow Community Centre is this Friday night 15th May from 9.30pm-12.00 midnight. Music by Brendan Lee and his band. Teas and refreshments served. Adm: €8. We look forward to seeing you there.
We are very proud in Rathangan N.S. to announce that a past pupil of the school has begun his writing career by getting his first story published in the magazine Irelands Own. Ciarán Mernagh, Son of our special needs assistant Sharon Mernagh, was lucky enough to have his story 'Sid the Signpost' chosen and published. We congratulate Ciarán on his achievement. Well done.
The heating refurbishment of Rathangan Church will begin on Monday May 11th. The Church will be closed to the public for approximately one month for health and safety reasons. All Saturday evening and Sunday morning masses will be held in Duncormick Church from Monday 11th May until further notice.
Emergency church services e.g Funerals etc. will be held in Cleariestown, Duncormick or Carrig-On-Bannow Churches. Parishioners full co-operation would be appreciated during this time of refurbishment. We apologise for the short notice.
A vintage and cycle run will take place in aid of Rathangan Church Restoration Fund on Sunday June 21st. More details to follow later.
Duncormick Area Action Group and Tidy Towns Committee will hold a table quiz in Sinnott's Pub on Wed May 20th at 9pm. Tables €20. Refreshments served. Proceeds in aid of river walk development.
Why not join us for our parish family Mass on Sunday, 17th May, in Duncormick Church, at 11 a.m. where we will be preparing for the birthday of our Church on Pentecost Sunday. We're also delighted to be able to invite everybody for some refreshments immediately afterwards, so don't be in a rush home!!! We look forward to seeing you there.
The Golden Eagles
The Golden Eagles were in the Abbey this week with the moaner Paul Roche squeezing home in front of Oliver Roche. Ger Stafford and Paul Roche also won the Birdie clubs. Next is Carrigleade
SOUTH EAST STROLLERS
We meet every Monday evening at 7pm, (except Bank Holidays and weather permitting). During this fine weather we will meet every 3rd Monday at a different location. The Strollers receive a text message with relevant details. We have some lovely trails and loops in Wexford all within a short distance. On the other Mondays we meet at Rathangan Hall at 7.00pm, stroll for 35-45 mins.
We have a cup of tea/ coffee and most importantly a chat afterwards. We would like to invite anyone who would like to get out for a stroll/walk, who may have very low fitness levels but would like to get active and fit. Our strolls are designed to cater for many fitness levels.

Congratulations to the boys and girls from St. Anne's Athletics Club who took part in the County Championships in Enniscorthy recently. Athletes from ages U-9 to U-14 competed in track and field events, with many competing in track semi-finals and finals. A special word of congratulations to Liam Berry and Muireann Hynes who both came home with medals. All are now busily preparing for Community Games. Training continues on Friday evenings from 6.30-7.30 if you would like to come down and join us.
Forth Walking Group
The Wednesday evening walks will resume this week as follows: Wednesday 13th May: Kilmore. Wednesday 20th May: Tintern. Wednesday 27th May: Forth Mountain, meeting on each occasion at 7.15p.m. Look forward to seeing you there, new walkers always welcome.
used books collection
The students of Bridgetown Vocational College are currently collecting used books to send to a retired Irish teacher working with schools in the Philippines. This project aims to supply badly needed library books for classrooms there and they would really appreciate our help.
If you can spare any books for this worthy cause please send them in to the school as soon as possible. They will be collected within the next week or so.

Sea Shanty Thanks
The Rosslare Maritime Enthusiasts & organisers of The Sea Shanty Night held last Saturday would like to thank all those who helped make it the success it was.

The Jimmy Carroll Cup regional qualifier was held in Borris Golf club last Wednesday. Our lads just missed out of a spot in the next round amid a very strong field. Well done to the team, which was; Maurice Cooper, Tom O'Riordan, Stan Parkinson, Pat O'Connor, Aidan Colgan, Seamus McCormack, Jim Murphy and Gerry Byrne.

St Paul's A.C.
The club had a busy day on Day 1 of The County Track and Field in Enniscorthy. Daniel Halligan earned 2 medals, becoming the U15 High Jump county champion as well as his bronze in the 100m. Maeve Hayes was our second county champion winning the U14 Long Jump and earning 3rd place in the 200m.
Other medallists included: Emma Carr 3rdU13 Long Jump & 100m, Conn Mernagh 2nd U10 100m, Chanel O'Leary 2nd U14 1500m, Sammy Delaney 3rd U16 Long Jump, U11 relay team (Teegan Fortune, Amelia Rees, Grace Nolan and Bonnie Murphy) finished in 3rd place, U13 team (Emma Carr, Ciara, Aoife and Niamh Rees) 3rd place, U9 team (Jacub Sumec, Shay Murphy, Pierce Murphy and Conor Waldron) 3rd place! Well done to all who competed!
Tara Connick was also in action recently where she won the Senior South Leinster Schools Discus! Tara will compete at the Leinster Schools later this summer! Well done!
Kilrane NS 50 /50 lottery
We would like to thank all participants in the 50/50 Lottery. We would like to congratulate our April Winner Margret Maher. They took home a grand total of €1,295.
The lottery has been a great success so far and we look forward to your continued support.
Next Meeting: The next meeting will be on Tuesday, 2nd June, 2015 at 3.00pm, at the Hotel Rosslare. There will be committee at 2.00pm at the same location. Our thanks to Jim Begley for his most interesting talk on local history at our May meeting.

The new venue for the Knit-Wits gathering will be at the Maritime Museum (The Old Tourist Office), Kilrane, and will still be on Fridays at 10.30am.

Kilrane NS are running their annual Scrap Saturday and Old Clothes collection on Saturday 16th May.
All scrap metal, boilers, washing machines, kettles, pots & Pans, Barbeques, bikes, prams, trampolines, swings, old farmyard machinery, cars garden furniture (no plastic), mobile phones & spectacles, Clothes, footwear (in pairs), hats, belts, handbags, etc.
Collection point is Kilrane Community Centre from 9am to 3pm. If you have large items please call Margaret on 0876899430 to arrange collection.
RNLI Coffee Morning
A coffee morning in support of Rosslare Harbour RNLI will be held on Friday 15th May in Hotel Rosslare at 10.30. Lifeboat souvenirs and merchandise will also be on sale. Come along and enjoy a coffee and support the local lifeboat station.

U14 Feile Fundraiser: Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our Feile Fundraising efforts over the May bank holiday weekend - we had a very successful weekend with a kids disco, cake sale, raffle and car wash all running over the three days. A special word of thank you goes to all the ladies and gents who baked for the weekend and Georgina Peare for her help in organising the venue. Our lucky raffle winners were: Orla Walsh, Siobhan Burke, Eoghan Foley, Teresa Bolger and Pauline Murphy.

Summer is coming and our Summer Slim campaign is under way. Every Thursday evening at 7:30 come along to The Community Hall in Tagoat for our Motivational chat and weekly weigh ins. Lots of fun is being had and everyone is supportive of individual goals.
The toddler group meets in Tagoat Hall every Tuesday from 10 a.m. All Welcome, so come along for an enjoyable morning.
