SENIOR GAA

The Juniors had a comfortable win over Cloughbawn on Saturday evening in championship with a final score of 2-15 to 1-11.

Last Saturday week marked the beginning of the PSHC and our Seniors began their campaign v Cloughbawn. The conditions were poor for both teams and the resulting draw was probably a fair result. The final tally was 2-11 to 1-14. On Sunday the team faced down strong opposition from the Rapparees in Oylegate. It was a nip and tuck affair with both sides exchanging scores aswell as both being reduced to 14 men midway through the second half. Glynn Barntown finally managed to pull away in the closing minutes to earn a 2 point victory. Final score 1-6 to 0-11 points.

Thanks to all who purchased a model county draw ticket from the club. Congratulations to Eddie Roche Noel McCormack and Pat O Rourke who each won €200 in the draw.

Two U.14 girls were selected from each club to compete in the Féile Peile Skills competition on Saturday last. Our two representatives were Lara O Shea and Rebecca Fanning. Both girls did extremely well and represented their club with pride. We are delighted to announce that Lara was deemed Co.
