The St Fintans GAA lotto now stands at€4,200 and tickets can be purchased in the local shops,club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8pm and from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match three prize of €300 up for grabs each week and Billy Moore shared in this prize with the following numbers drawn 1,6,9,29. Many thanks for your continued support.
The St Fintans u-14 ladies football team played a thrilling draw with Sarsfields scoring 7-3 to Sarsfields 4-12 in what was a great team performance. The next game is away to Cushionstown on Monday May 18th.
The St Fintans Jun A hurling team travelled to Rathnure in the recent past to take on the home team in the EEW Jun A hurling Championship group A. Having defeated Halfway House Bunclody the men from Ballymore/Mayglass were upbeat but the men from Rathnure proved too strong on this occasion taking the spoils on a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-6.
The Our Ladys Island /St Fintans u-14 hurling team scored a comfortable 3-8 to 1-2 victory over Adamstown in a New Ross Standard div.4 championship game during the recent past. Keep up the good work lads.
Feile Peil Na N'og
Ber Kelly/Cullen Killinick will hold a fundraising coffee day and cake sale on Saturday May 23rd from 11am-4pm. The proceeds from the day are going to the St Fintans u-14 girls who will host a team from Cavan and the u-14 boys of Our Ladys Island/St Fintans who will host a team from Yorkshire at the Feile Peil finals. Please come along and support.
The official launch of Feile Peil Na N'Og took place in the Ferrycarrig Hotel on Wednesday night last. The St Fintans ladies will play all their games at home and the competition will commence on June 26th.
Congratulations to the St Fintans ladies club that won E5000 in the first of the Topaz cash for clubs draws. Many thanks to all who supported.
We congratulate Paddy Keane and Roisin Kehoe on the birth of their baby daughter Ellie during the recent past and we wish them many years of good health and happiness together.
On County Team
Well done to St Fintans underage player Eoin Cummins who played in goal for the Wexford County minor team when it played Dublin in this years Leinster championship and dispite his valiant efforts Dublin ran out winners on a scoreline of 3-8 to 11pts.
First Holy Communion
Congratulations and best wishes to all of the eighteen boys and girls who celebrated the sacrament of First Holy Communion over last weekend. Many thanks to the teachers and families who helped prepare them for the sacrament and those who helped with the preparations on the day itself.
The Ballycogley Players send their congratulations to fellow Wexford groups Bunclody/Kilmyshall and Kilmuckridge on their successes at the recent RTE All Ireland Open Drama Finals in Athlone.
Ronan P Byrne of Bunclody/Kilmyshall won the best actor award,Josephine Byrne won the best actress award and Liam Farrell won the best stage managment award while Michael Murphy of Kilmuckridge won the John Butler scholarship to the DLI summer school. Well done all.
Please take note that Marie Goodwin Lochgunnan, Killinick will hold an open garden fundraiser on July 10th with the proceeds going to the Mayglass school development fund.
The St Fintans golfing society will hold its next outing on Saturday May 23rd at Wexford golf club with a first tee off time of 9.30am. The fee for the outing is €30 including a meal and there is also a 2 club rollover.
To honour Our Lady in the month of May, Mass will take place in Ballycogley Grotto at 7pm Tuesday 26th May, weather permitting. The Ballymore-Mayglass Choir will be present to add to the celebration of Mass. It is hoped that as many as possible can join together in this community celebration of faith. All welcome.
Next Sunday we will hold a breakfast morning from 9.30am to 1.00pm in the community hall. The fundraiser is being held for William Carley, Ballylibernagh, who in early June will be doing a skydive with Skydive Ireland to help raise funds for Temple Street Children's Hospital.
Full Irish with all the trimmings will cost €5.00. Breakfast Rolls €3.50. Your support for this young man's efforts to raise funds for such a worthy cause would be much appreciated. A raffle will also take place.
A sincere thanks to all who have contributed so generously to Bridgetown Vocational College's book collection for the schools in the Philippines. This project aims to supply badly needed library books for classrooms there and we have done really well with our collection.
So far we have gathered more than 1000 books for this worthy cause. If you didn't get around to contributing last week but would like to do so, please try to get the books to us early next week if you can. We are extremely grateful for your support.

Kilmore Active Retirement Association indoor bowling team put in a brilliant performance in the final league game of the season on Tuesday last at the Stella Maris Centre where they overcame Bree on the healthy score line of 21-4. Anne Lawless, Frances Moore, Noel Howlin and Joe Bulmer played their best bowls of the season to win convincingly and so added to the win against Gorey a few weeks ago. Players have now grown accustomed to the new smaller bowl and the whole panel of players are looking forward to next season's league with some confidence, while a few challenge games are in the pipeline over the summer months. Well done all you bowlers.
Election to WPPN
Anne Shannon who was nominated by Kilmore SCOPE has been elected to the Local Community Development Committee of Wexford Public Participation Network at a meeting last Tuesday night in Enniscorthy. Voting for five seats took place at the meeting, where Anne won one of two seats from the Social Inclusion Panel. We all wish Anne the very best in this new Network which replaces the County Community Forum.

Congratulations to Sophie Tierney who became Irish national champion @ 54kgs on Saturday night in the National Stadium. She was representing Clonard boxing club and her parish of Kilmore/Kilmore quay. Thanks to everyone for their help and support along the way.
Our Lady's Island
This weekend our small parish fielded eight players who represented our County on U14/ U15/ U16 and Minor teams in various competitions across the country. Congratulations to James O'Leary, Adam Mullins, Jason Devereux, Joshua Burke, David Pettit, Dylan Connick, Robert Cloney and Cathal Devereux. You represented your County and Club with great skill and professionalism.
World Rosary Relay
A World Rosary Relay will be celebrated on Feast of The Sacred Heart, 12th June. Our Lady's Island will continue this great world prayer by taking over from the Shrine of Our Lady of The Taper in Wales. They will celebrate the Joyful mysteries at 7.30p.m. and at 8p.m. the Mysteries of Light will be celebrated in Our Lady's Island.
G.A.A. News There was great excitement in Scoil Mhuire Our Lady's Island National School this week as the school hosted representatives from this years Feile Peile Na nOg. The visit formed part of the official launch to celebrate the largest sporting event to take place in Ireland this year.

There was a good attendance of members at the Annual General Meeting of Our Lady's Island I.C.A.was held on Monday last. The President thanked everyone of their commitment and help during the year. The Secretary gave her report and the Treasurer gave the Financial Report. Susan Keogh retired as Treasurer, she was thanked for taking good care of finances for the past three years and received a presentation of a bouquet of flowers.

All joined in congratulating Dee on becoming National Regional President of I.C.A. She was presented with a beautiful plant.
Sympathy was extended to the Sutherland family on the passing of Philomena and the Hanton family on the death of Lily. Preparations are under way for competing in tghe Special Occasions competition on 10th June in Adamstown.
The summer Outing is planned for Tuesday, 30th June going to Kilkenny-non members are most welcome-please contact Angela Pettit or Mary Hayes. Our next Community Coffee Morning is on Thursday, 28th May.
The raffle was won by Roisin Putt and Mary Davis. The competition was won by Pattie Cullen. The Guild Member of the Year was Peg Ellard-well done Peg.
