Day 2 of the Mr. Oil County Juvenile Track & Field Championships 2015 took place on Sunday 10th May at the Enniscorthy Sports Hub. Again there was a large number of Adamstown athletes who took part in all the track and field events. Impressively the athletes took home over 80 medals (counting relays as 1 medal) from the two days of the County Championships.

Well done and congratulations to all the athletes who participated in Day 1 and Day 2 of the Mr. Oil Juvenile County Championships. Thanks to all those who contributed to the shop or worked in the shop on either day. A special word of thanks and appreciation to the trainers and coaches who enabled all the athletes to perform to their best at the County Championships. Day 2 of the South Leinster Secondary Schools Track & Field Championships took place on Wednesday 6th May in Kilkenny.
Well done to all of the Adamstown athletes who participated at this event. Results from Day 2 were: Intermediate Girls 100m-3rd Shannon Wall; U16 Girls 1500m-4th Annalise Crean and Intermediate Boys High Jump-1st Ryan Carthy Walsh.
The weekly '30' Card Game continues in the Community Centre this Friday 22nd May at 9pm. Thanks to the ladies for the teas last week. Catering on 22nd will be: Marian Kelly, Catherine J. Kelly, Catherine L. Kelly & Mary Fortune. Catering on Fri 29th will be: Eleanor Smyth, Emma Staunton & Bernie Conway. Proceeds going to Parish Funds.

First Holy Communion
Nineteen children from Adamstown National School will make their First Holy Communion on Saturday 23rd May in St. Abban's Church at 11am. Please remember the children and their families in your prayers over the next week.
Alzheimer's Tea Day
Ellie Walsh and family extend their sincere appreciation to all those who supported their "Tea Day" on Saturday last and to the generosity of all who donated to the fundraiser, the amount raised to date is €670 which is a fantastic amount of money and all of this will be used in Wexford to help Alzheimer's patients and families. Thank you all so much.

Prayer Group gather each Sunday evening in St. Abban's Oratory from 7pm to 8pm. St. Anthony's Tuesday evening Mass continues every Tuesday at 7.30pm. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Mon - Fri from 7pm to 8pm each evening
Rosary at Grotto
The Rosary is recited at the Grotto, Knockreigh Mon-Fri at 8pm for the month of May, all welcome to join in.

U-8 and U-10 football training continues Wednesday at 6.30pm in the Crossabeg community pitches. Membership is €30 for these age groups and is now due.
First Holy Communion

Pilgrimage to Knock
There will be a Parish Pilgrimage to Knock on 5th July in conjunction with the Diocese of Ferns Pilgrimage which will be led by Bishop Denis Brennan. Anyone interested in travelling book with Parish Office or Fr Jim on 087 2119151.

Congratulations to Ballymurn Green School Committee on achieving their 5th Green Flag . They will be presented with the Biodiversity flag on the 21st May. This is a fantastic achievement for a small school.
Camogie Club Fundraiser
Oylegate Glenbrien Camogie Club will be hosting 'The Cube' on Saturday 6th June at 8.30pm in The Riverbank Hotel, Wexford. Tickets €10 with a door prize on the night. The committee will be out selling tickets in the coming weeks.

The eighth edition of the Blackwater Parish Journal will be launched in the Blackwater Lodge Hotel on Saturday 23rd May at 9 p.m. All are welcome. The journal will then be on sale in the local shops at €6.
First Holy Communion
Pupils from Second Class in Scoil Mochua celebrated their First Holy Communion, in St. Patrick's Church, at 11am, on Saturday 9th May. Congratulations and best wishes are extended to them and to their supportive parents/guardians on this important milestone in their Christian lives.
The new communicants are Adam Butler, Stone Callaly, Caitlin Dempsey, Jennie Grimes, Joanne Hyland, Emmy Kenneally, Milly Lotz, J.D.Masterson, Jamie McCarthy, Oisin Moore, Lorna Murtagh, Sophie Nolan, Sasha O'Danza, Jason Rossiter, Kevin Redmond, Lillymay Tohill, Lauren Turmel.
Oulart Patron will be held on Sunday 28th June, beginning at 1.30pm.
Church Gate Collection
A Church Gate Collection in aid of Autism will be held at St. Patrick's Church, Oulart on the weekend of 23th /24th May. Your usual generous response is anticipated.
Results & Fixtures
Well done to our senior and intermediate hurling teams on their victories in the second round of their championships against Faythe Harriers and Duffry Rovers respectively. Hard luck to our Junior hurlers who lost by a single point to HWH/Bunclody.
The third round of the hurling championship is scheduled to take place on the weekend of 23rd/24th May. Our senior hurlers return to Bellefield for their clash with Shamrocks at 1pm on Sunday 24th while, on the same evening, our Intermediate team will play Ballygarrett, in Ferns at 7.30pm. Our Junior A hurlers will play Cloughbawn, in Oulart on 22nd May, at 7.30pm.
All roads lead to Cooney's Store, Raheenduff, on 20th June for Oulart-The Ballagh's Annual Barn Dance. Delicious BBQ food will be served until midnight. Music will be provided by Hot Ashphalt, followed by a Disco. As usual, the admission is a mere €10. So for great craic, delicious food and good value, hurry to Raheenduff to enjoy the best Barn Dance in the South East.
Scoil Mochua had a visit from Feile Peil na nÓg representatives last Tueday. Among those visiting Oulart were Conor McDonald (Wexford senior hurler) and Ciara Neville (Ladies Gaelic Football). The school music group entertained the visitors with their delightful playing, the visitors encouraged the children to continue to participate in sporting activities and they answered many questions put to them by the enthusiastic students. Oulart-The Ballagh under 14 players will participate in Féile Peil on the weekend of 26-28 June. The club will host a team from Co. Leitrim, the Seán O'Heslin Club.
Oulart Tidy Towns AGM was held recently and the outgoing committee was re-elected en bloc. The extensive works carried out last year were reviewed and the comments on all the efforts made by the committee, local businesses, school, Church grounds, housing estates and at the GAA pitches were very positive.
The Oulart Tidy Towns Committee took an award from Wexford Co. Co. for their new project-the restoration of the Parish Hall, known locally as The Legion of Mary Hall.
A big thank-you is extended to John Kennedy for installing the new windows. The committee members repainted the building, installed window boxes and plants in the grounds. The project to be carried out this year is to upgrade the entrance to the Old Cemetery.
The committee thanks all the businesses and residents for their help and co-operation in keeping the village litter-free. The schoolchildren, the GAA , the housing associations and the Fás workers all play a big part in presenting the village as it should be.
It is great to see the new maps and signage that have been installed in the village and on Oulart Hill, outlining the significance of the area. Well done to Brian Cleary and the Oulart Hill committee for their continued efforts.
The Tidy Towns committee thanked everyone who contributed to last year's Church Gate Collection, Three new members were welcomed unto the committee, namely Gerald and Margaret Furlong and Ethan Mahon, all of whom have been a great help throughout the springtime.
This year's Ferns Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place 17th to 22nd May. We wish all the pilgrims, especially those from our local area, a pleasant journey and a joyous and fruitful pilgrimage to one of the most renowned Marian shrines in the world.
