Crossabeg/Ballymurn Ladies Football Club are holding a Coffee Evening in Ballymurn pitch on Wednesday 17th June from 6pm to 8.30pm to help raise funds for Feile. Please come along and support. Oulart Community Text Alert Committee will hold an open informative meeting on Tuesday next, the 16 th June, 2015, in the Community Centre, Oulart- starting at 8-30p.m. sharp. There will two guest speakers on the night.

A member of Gorey Lions Club will talk about the free service called ' Message in a Bottle'-( A service to the Community) This involves placing accurate, relevant , medical information on a sheet of paper placed in a readily identifiable green & white plastic bottle, this bottle is then put in the door of the fridge, if a medical emergency arises, the emergency services- doctor /ambulance etc will have all medical information in relation to the patient at hand immediately. The speaker on the night will demonstrate how it works, the advantages etc & will answer any questions in relation to the Message in a Bottle free service.

The second guest speaker will cover all aspects of fire safety in the home as well as in the community, he will also answer any questions in relation to this service. Everyone are very welcome to attend this open meeting, Refreshments will also be served.

Bree/Galbally

Patron/Field Day

The Bellevue Patron will take place this Sunday June 14th at 2pm followed by the annual Field Day. People are invited to come along and enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the river Slaney. There will be fun for the children and all the usual stalls. Helpers and donations of baked goods are needed.

Bree CEP Visitation

Visitation of the Elderly in the Community has recommenced in recent weeks with two participants from Bree CEP, Sue and Annabel, calling on some of the elderly in the Community. This is a service organised in conjunction with the Active Retirement Group.

If there is anyone who would like to be visited or perhaps you have a family member who would like to avail of this service please let the CEP Office know at 053 9247613. Sue and Annabel have also compiled and published a Newsletter with information and articles which may be of interest to the elderly in the community.

The aim is to produce the Newsletter on a monthly basis. We are also looking for ideas and suggestions for other activities which we could offer for the group.

Community Games

The Community Games Athletic County Final takes place in Bree on this Saturday June 13th at 10am. Jerseys for the day will be available after training on Wednesday, 8th June. Best wishes to all involved. As the local area is host on the day, assistance is required with sandwich making at 9.30am and with providing cakes for all officials involved.

Bree AC News

Bree athletes have had a busy time with great success over the past two weekends. The Leinster Seniors/Masters took place in Tullamore and Bree AC was well represented. Elizabeth Egan won both the Senior 3000m and the Senior 3000m SC and in the Masters events Una Gately 2nd 100mH, Claire Gately 2nd 3000mWalk, Myriam Gately 2nd 1500m, Javelin 3rd 100m, Maire Gately 1st 100m (O75), Nessa Gately 3rd Javelin, Una Gately 2nd Weight for Distance and Thomas Loonam 3rd Discus, Javelin.

On the previous day three juvenile teams were in action in the Leinster Team Event. The Boys U11 team of Shane Doran, Sean Rowley, Ryan Whelan and Robbie Chapman won gold medals, the Girls U10 team of Abbie Doyle, Grace Donohoe, Gracie Kehoe and Leah Sinnott won silver medals and the U10 Boys team of Oisin Rochford, Cillain Dempsey, Oscar Redmond and Fionn Andrews missed out on the bronze medals by just one point.

Back in Tullamore last weekend, nine athletes were in action with results as follows U13 Darra Casey 2nd Hurdles, U12 Leah Nolan 4th 60m, U11 Pairs Sean Rowley and Shane Doran 1st 60m, Ryan Whelan and Sean Rowley 2nd LJ: U10 Pairs Abbie Doyle and Gracie Kehoe 1st 60m, Grace Donohoe and Gracie Kehoe 1st Turbo Jav. Darra, Sean, Abbie and Leah were members of intercounty relays which won the silver medals.

Barn Dance

A Country & Western Barn dance will be held in Garry Byrne's store on Saturday September 5th. The band on the night will be the Colonials followed by a disco til late! Don't miss a great night's fun.

Story telling Group.

A great night was had by all at the last Story telling session full of songs yarns, and music thank you to all who came along , supported the raffle and donated confectionary on the night, all the proceeds on the night will be donated to the Slaney Search and Recue group, and the Hope Cancer support centre. There will be a bed push from Oylegate to Enniscorthy on behalf of the charity and all at the Story telling group wish them all the best with the event.

Parish Patron

Oulart Patron will be held on Sunday 28th June, beginning at 1.30pm, with prayers in the Old Cemetery, followed by prayers in the New Cemetery. The annual Field Day, in aid of Scoil Mochua, the local primary school, will follow immediately after the Patron.

A fun-filled experience is guaranteed, with teas available throughout the afternoon as well as the usual attractions such as Cake & Bottle Stall, Wheel of Fortune, Bric-a Brac, BBQ, Bouncy Castle, Nail & Face Painting, Pony Rides, Fishing for Bottles and Hurling Penalty Shots. There will also be a raffle, with the prizes being (1) a Barbeque, (2) a Hamper and (3) a Voucher. Tickets will be on sale in the local shop and will also be available on the day. Donations of goods for the various stalls and cake sale would be greatly appreciated and may be left in the school on Saturday 4pm-5pm and on Sunday morning from 10am-12 noon.

Barn Dance

All roads lead to Cooney's Store, Raheenduff, on 20th June for Oulart-The Ballagh GAA Annual "Mid-Summer" Barn Dance. Delicious BBQ food will be served until midnight. Music will be provided by "Hot Ashphalt", followed by a Disco. As usual, the admission is a mere 10 euro. So for great craic, delicious food and good value, hurry to Raheenduff to enjoy the best Barn Dance in the South East.

Ballagh Boxing Club

The Ballagh Boxing Club will hold a Golf Classic on 12th June. The cost per team is 120 euro. Anyone who would like to enter a team or sponsor a tee-box should ring 087-6237409 or contact any club member for further details. Proceeds will go towards the building of the new club house.

Football Féile

Oulart-The Ballagh under 14 players will participate in Division 10 of Féile Peil on the weekend of 26th-28th June. The club will host a team from Co. Leitrim, the Seán O'Heslin Club, Ballinamore.

The visitors will arrive on Friday 26th, and early that evening, Oulart-The Ballagh will play the Sligo representatives and Oylegate-Glenbrien, in the latter's pitch and following those matches, will proudly parade with the other teams, through Gorey, that night.

The boys in red-and-black will compete against the Leitrim team in Oulart on the Saturday. The winners will go forward to play in the finals, on Sunday, in the Ferns Centre of Excellence.

Community Text Alert

Oulart Community Text Alert will hold an Open information meeting, in Oulart Community Centre, on Tuesday 16th June, beginning at 8.30pm sharp. Two guest speakers will attend and address the meeting. Junior & Senior Infants will travel to Kia-Ora Farm on 22nd June. Fifth & Sixzth classes will visit Glasnevin Cemetery and The National Aquatic Centre on 25th June.

G.A.A. Breakfast

Would you, your family and friends like to have a stress-free Sunday morning and enjoy a leisurely breakfast, without having to cook or wash-up? Well, the under-age section of Oulart-The Ballagh GAA intend making that possible. They are holding a "Breakfast Morning" on Sunday 14th June, in Oulart Community Centre, from 8.00 am to 12.00 noon.

Coiste na nÓg are inviting everyone in the Parish to call in for breakfast on that Sunday and so help to raise funds for the underage section of the club.
