The St Fintans GAA Lotto now stands at €5,400 and tickets can be purchased in the local shops, club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8pm and from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match 3 prize of €300 up for grabs each week and the following shared in this prize Karen Jones and Thomas Callaghan with the following numbers drawn 6,18,23,24. There will be an Irish Night in Tomhaggard Social Centre on Mon 20th July at 9pm as part of the Novena Fringe. Music by Bridgeridge Boys and if the last two years are anything to go by a great night is expected.
A date for the diary folks. St.Fintans fundraising committee will present a "Tractor Build" in the Danby Lodge on Saturday 8th August. 4 wonder women from the Rainbow Vintage Tractor Club in Co.Cavan will build a Massey Ferguson TVO from scratch in record speed time. This really is an amazing feat not to be missed.
Tickets are available for just €5 but be quick to get yours because these are sure to move very quickly. Music on the night from Lorraine Rankin ensuring a really great night out. Due to fire and safety laws a limited number of tickets will be available so don't miss out, get yours as soon as possible. Tickets are available from Frank Staples(Snr), Shane Sinnott, Sharon Pettit, Ber Cullen, Anna Marie Redmond.
The committee are also selling Tractor Build "guess the time" lines for €2 where the person/s guessing the right time for the build will win or share €100. The lines will be on sale from many club members over the coming weeks so go on, have a wee guess!
A big thank you to Marie Goodwin Loughgunnan Mayglass who opened her lovely garden during the recent past with the proceeds going to Mayglass national school.

Local girl Lorraine Rankin invites us all to the Danby Lodge on Saturday August 15th at 9pm when she will launch her new CD. Why not come along to support Lorraine and enjoy a great nights entertainment by a number of different artists.
The St Fintans u-10 girls football team took on neighbours Kilmore in its last home game of the league led by joint captains Abbigail Clarke and Mia Meyler during the past week. The girls put their unbeaten record on the line and were given a stern test by Kilmore but when the final whistle sounded the 3-7 to 3-1 scoreline saw them remain unbeaten. The team thanked new "waterboy" Josh Pettit and wished Saoirse a speedy recovery.
The u-12 girls were away to Bannow/Ballymitty in their sixth game of the league and the club travelled with just fourteen players which was a much smaller panel than normal. Although defeated by a very strong home side this was the first time that most of the girls played a full game and they are to be complimented on their never say die attitude.
The u-14 girls played their last home game of the league versus Cushinstown and showed great teamwork in running out comfortable winners. The girls have won all their games to date and are now awaiting opposition for a County semi final game.
Congratulations to u-16 player Emily Coakley who was a member of the Wexford u-16 team that defeated Clare in the All Ireland u-16 semi final in Cahir during the past week.
The St Fintans/Our Ladys Island took on Geraldine O Hanrahans in a minor football championship game on Wednesday evening last in Ballymore and despite putting up a brave fight were beaten on a scoreline of 4-1 to 1-8.
Members of the St Fintans Golfing Society are asked to keep Saturday July the 25th free when St Helens Bay is the venue for another outing
Happy 21st birthday to Jason Pettit who celebrated his special day with a large gathering of family and friends in Ye Olde Coopers Inn on Saturday evening last.
Kilmore scouts took part in the Opening Parade of the Kilmore Quay Seafood Festival on Thursday evening. They had a float which was festooned with flags, pioneering project and alter fire. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and venturer did plenty of singing campfire songs along the route which added to the atmosphere.
The Scouts proudly displayed their trophies which they won recently at the Co Wexford Scoutcraft Competition. They will represent Wexford in the All Ireland Finals in Limerick in August. Scouts are spending the weekend in Davidstown where they have been invited to take part in Ballyhuskard and Davidstown annual camp.
The Shield team will continue to practice over the summer while all sections will resume in September. Anyone interested in joining should contact 0876858480. There are places in Beaver section 6-9, Venture section 15-18,very limited places in Cub section 9-12 and Scout section 12-15. We would also like to hear from any adults over 18 who would like to join the scouting fun.
Kilmore Scouts are holding a Cake Sale with Tea/Coffee on the Lawn after Mass in Kilmore Church on Saturday August 1st, Sunday August 2nd and in Mulrankin Church on Sunday August 9th. The Competition team will spend five days in Limerick and we hope to bring the other team for the weekend as they all trained together over the past year and the Junior team put in such a good performance in the County Competition. Your support would be greatly appreciated
Ballycogley Players Play reading committee of Fintan Murphy, Nick Hayes, Brenda Murphy, Con Doyle and Terence O Byrne are currently reading One Act Plays for the Autumn season. Readings for parts will be held in August with Rehearsals from September. Anyone interested in joining the group, acting, set building, backstage etc should contact Fintan on 0876812690.

Ballycogley celebrate 40 years of drama this year and hope to mark the occasion with a suitable function before the end of the year. Anyone with memorabelia, photographs, anectdotes etc should contact Nick on 0872605506. The group, suitabily attired,took part in the Opening Parade of the Seafood Festival on Thursday.
Second annual tractor run on Sunday 9th August Ferrycarrig Park. Registration 12 noon. Run leaving Ferrycarrig Park at 1 o clock. All vehicles welcome. Refreshments served after run. All registered drivers entered into draw for spot prizes. Top prize BBQ valued €250.
Phil Murphy Weekend
The 24th Phil Murphy Weekend will take place from 23rd - 26th July in Carrig-on-Bannow. The Kilfenora Ceilí band will play on Saturday 25th July and Finbar Furey will play at this year's festival on Sunday 26th July.

This year's Historical tour is on Saturday July 25th. The tour will visit St Mullins Heritage Centre, Ballyrankin house and Newtown Barry house and lunch will be at the Rivers edge restaurant in Bunclody.

A very big thank you to all who came to Tacumshane and supported the Garden Party this year and may we also extend our sincere appreciation for all the support we have received from parishioners at Tacumshane and O.L.I.and further afield for raffle tickets and to everyone who baked cakes, topped strawberries, washed cups, fixed house leaks, played music, painted kitchens, laid carpets, moved furniture, served tea, made lots of many other preparations and tidied up afterwards. Leo Carthy Weekend
The Leo Carthy Traditiional Weekend will take place on 1st/2nd August with opening Concert in Our Lady's Island Community Hall on Saturday at 8.30p.m., promising a great night of music, song, comedy and special guests. Festivities will continue on Sunday at 1p.m. with registration for 6km Fun Run, all welcome. 1.30p.m. Start of Fun Run in village. 2p.m. Live Open Air Music on green with Teresa & The Stars. 4 - 7p.m. Traditional Music and song with numerous well-known local artists on Open air stage.
