Community Alert Scheme
The committee of the Rosslare Harbour / Kilrane Community Alert Scheme have reviewed the operation of the scheme to-date. The scheme must be supported by the entire community in order for it to succeed and requires a one off contribution of €10 per household to meet the set up costs for the scheme.
Unfortunately sufficient funds have not been realised to-date to meet the costs of the signage for the scheme.
The committee acknowledges the amount of €1,300 that has been contributed to date by the community together with the interest expressed by a further 65 individuals. This leaves a shortfall of approximately €1,000. To faciliate payment of contributions committee members will be present in the Railway Social Club from 7.30pm to 8.30pm on Monday 5th October and Thursday 8th October.
In the meantime if anybody requires any further information regarding the scheme they can contact any committee member. Contributions can be forwarded to Trisha Boyce, Aedan MacFadden, Maeve O'Brien or Joan Walsh.
The committee must stress that in the event that insufficient funds are secured after this, they will have no alternative but to disband the scheme and refund any monies received to date. It is hoped that it will not be necessary to take this course of action as it is in the interests of the whole community that the scheme succeeds as it has been proved to work in other areas.
