Clothes/Textiles

An unwanted Clothes/Textiles Collection will take place in late September in St.Fintans G.A.A. Clubgrounds. Unwanted bags can be left into the Clubhouse on Sunday September 20th at 11am in the club house and Sunday September 27th at 11am in the club house. Collection of bags from you house can also be arranged by contacting Shane on 086 8139925 or Darragh on 085 1072449. Any Clothes, Paired shoes, Belts, Handbags, Curtains, Towels, Soft toys are accepted. Old mobiles phones and laptops can also be donated but please keep them in a separate bag from the clothes/textiles.

Items which are donated and collected, if re-wearable/re-useable are exported to Africa and India or other foreign markets and, if not, are recycled in Ireland for items, such as, soundproofing for buildings and industrial wipes for factories. Therefore, ensuring nothing goes to landfill!

More details will be communicated here over the coming weeks as well as door to door leaflets so clear out those drawers and presses and let your unwanted clothes raise funds for your local club.

Underage Football

Oylegate/Glenbrien 5-07 Our Lady's Island/St. Fintans 4-04: A disappointing end to our football campaign this evening when the lads went down by six points to the Enniscorthy district side in the u-16 football Div.1 shield quarter final.

A glut of goals and missed opportunities saw a lively first half end at 4-02 to 2-01 to Oylegate with the big talking point being the boys denied a penalty after Dylan Connick seemed to have been brought down in the opposing rectangle.

Despite the first score of the second half and getting to within a score or two, the gap just couldn't be closed leaving Oylegate/Glenbrien to progress to the semi final. All our attention now moves to our hurling quarter final v Ballygarret with a date to be confirmed.
