Our Lady's Island
The monthly "Open House" Coffee Morning is starting again this Thursday, 24th September in the Community Hall from 10.30a.m. to 12 noon. Love to see you all back again for cuppa and chat. Come along and bring a friend.
A new 12-week Operation Transformation Programme has just kicked off at Tacumshane Old School. Weekly weigh in every Tuesday from 7pm followed by motivation talk at 7.30pm.
Individual and group walking and exercise. All the support you need to get in shape for Christmas. Registration €10 and €4 weekly. New members welcome at any stage! All Proceeds in aid of Tacumshane Old School Development.
Autumn Fitness Classes
A programme of Autumn Fitness Classes in Our Lady's Island Community Hall every Monday at 7p.m. and in Tacumshane Old School Hall on Thursdays at 7p.m. Classes will include a combination of aerobic training (exercise to music) body conditioning (light weights) and flexibility training (gentle stretches). Páisti Beaga News
It was a big week for Páistí Beaga Ltd this week as we began our new afterschool service. Páistí Beaga are now offering a 2-3 o'clock childcare service for Broadway National School's Junior and Senior infant classes. This service is provided on Broadway National School premises. Fun Fashion Show
St Mary's Day Care are putting the final touches to their Bargain Boutique and Fashion Show for this Thursday at 8:00 in Hotel Rosslare in Rosslare Harbour (Doors open at 7:00). Tickets are only €5.
There was a good turnout of members at the September meeting of the I.C.A. held on Monday last. Sympathy was extended to Kathleen Cleary & family on the death of her sister Marie and to Mary Davis on the death of her sister, Mrs. O'Neill, also to the family of Ita Cullen. Best wishes for a speedy recovery were sento Brendan Mullins, Lucia Mooney and Paddy Pettit.
Arrangements were made to resume the monthly Coffee Mornings on Thursday next, 24th Sept. in the Community Hall from 10.30a.m. to 12 noon. Possible courses and speakers for the coming months were disucssed. At the next meeting there is a lady coming to give a talk on computers. The Raffle was won by Mary Hayes and Lila Vaughan.
The Competition was won by Peg Ellard. Following tea and a good old chat we all headed home. The next meeting will take place on 12th October.

Piercestown Scout Group
Scout group now re-opened for Meetings. Beavers Thurs nights 6.30 - 7.30 pm: Cubs and Scouts 7.30 - 9pm on Tuesdays. Weekly subscription is €3.Registration is €45 per youth member.
If any family have used Scout Jumpers for Beavers or Cubs and shirts for Scouts, belts/neckerchiefs in good condition which you would like to 'recycle' please drop up to the hall any Tues evening. We can re-sell them for you. Uniform costs have increased again and it would be a great help to parents to be able to purchase good condition used uniform parts at a reasonable rate.
A Table Quiz in aid of the Hope Cancer Support Centre will be held in Wexford Golf Club on Saturday 26th September at 8.30pm. Table of 4 €30.00 please come along and support this worthy cause.
There was no winner of last week's jackpot of €7,800. The winning numbers were 2,11,19,21. Congratulations to the nine match 3 winners who each received €33. The match three winners were Bernie Farrell, Ger Sinnott, Richard Duggan, Sinead Parrock, A. Winters, Nick White, Billy Keane, Kevin Murphy, P.J. Doyle. The next jackpot stands at €8,100 and the draw will take place on Tuesday 22nd September at 8.30pm.
There will be a table quiz in The Temple Bar, Rathangan at 8.30pm on Thursday 24th September in aid of our forthcoming production of "Calamity Jane". Table of four €20. All are welcome.

Bingo will be held in Rathangan Hall on Sunday 11th October beginning at 2.30pm. Prize fund €1200. We are asking for the support of the people of the parish for the bingo and all other parish fundraising events.
Cleariestown Community Playgroup are holding a bag collection on Monday 28th September. This is a great fundraiser for the playschool and a great excuse to have a good clearout before the winter sets in. Items for the bags include used clothes( men's, women's and children's) shoes, bags, belts, curtains, bed linen ( no duvets) , old soft toys. Old mobile phones will also be collected. Bags may be left at the community centre any weekday morning between 9.30-12.30.
The Shed has resumed in Tomhaggard social centre on Monday mornings from 10am-1pm. New members welcome, cost €5 towards running costs. So if you want to learn new skills, share your own skills, or just meet up for a chat and cuppa why not give it a go.
Bridgetown College Parents Art Course has a limited number of places available. The course is on Wednesday22nd September from 10am-12am in the Stella Maris Centre. No previous skill in Art required. New parents are welcome. Cost 3 euro per class. The course is funded by WWETB-County Wexford Community Education Programme. Bridgetown Parents Book Club began last year in the school. Informal meetings are held twice a month to discuss the novel chosen by the group. New members are welcome this year. Huge congratulations to Ger Maloney who finished third in the World Masters Mountain Running Championships in Betws-y-Coed, Wales recently. Not only did Ger win bronze, he also helped earn Ireland team gold, a fantastic achievement! Well done Ger!

Rosslare Fitness Club
We have a new class just added, and even better, first two weeks free. BOOT CAMP Kicking off next Tuesday 22nd Sept @ 10am and Thursday 24th September at 10am. NO booking just turn up on the morning that suits you.
Our Boot Camp is a fitness boot camp targeted at all levels of fitness, challenging both body and mind. Sessions are 1 hour with a focus on strengthening body and mind through a combination of techniques, approaches and some fun too. A basic session consists of activities such as Dynamic Warm Up Small sided games Core and strength training Aerobic activities Cool down with stretches Come and get fit in a supportive group environment!
A 6-week Kids Crocheting course has started on Thursdays from 3:15pm-4:15pm in Rosslare Community & Sports Centre. Suitable for 3rd class students upwards, cost €5 er week. Please bring your own Crochet Hook Limited numbers-Max 10 to book your place please call Annette on 085-7414303
Club meets every Friday from 7pm-9pm each week for secondary school students. Our plans are already coming together with our dates filling up with activities. €2 per week. ST. MARY'S DAY CARE
Donations: We are asking for donations for our upcoming events. Any unwanted gifts, drink (Alcoholic and non-alcoholic), new or good as new items or clothes would be greatly appreciated. You can drop items into the centre or If you have items and want us to collect them please call on 053-9132624.
Day Services: We currently have a few vacant places for Day Services on a Friday. We offer breakfast on arrival, card games, chat, TV, etc. On to lunch time then, this consists of a 3 course meal, and in the afternoon we have some lively music entertainment, Karaoke or pongo and finally at the end of an exciting and entertaining day we have some afternoon tea with a cake/bun before going home!
