Another Rose

The Tenacre Rose; After battling through rigorous and highly contested preliminary rounds defeating reputable competition such as Enda Newport and Tom Kehoe, Darragh Darina Wright was crowned the Tenacre Rose.

The announcement of his victory has generated a spectacular buzz around the Tenacre area. Local Greenacres Publican described the atmosphere as "incredible, something to rival '96". The area has experienced a significant downturn of fortunes in the recent past with the closure of Newport's Superstore and the burger van, but a Wright victory at the St Fintans pageant is sure to raise morale and there might well be dancing at the Tenacre crossroads again!

On speaking to "Darina" on his chances of pipping his fellow competitors to the the elusive title, he seemed quietly confident. "I look around at my fellow competitors and don't see anything special, anything less than the win will be disappointing" he proclaimed.

"Darina" would like to thank his mother, Marie, as her lack of a daughter has forced her to shower him with those feminine qualities that have brought him this far. He now asks for the support of his neighbours and friends urging them to Vote No. 1 for the Tenacre Rose.
