Historical Society

The Society is holding an EGM at 8pm in Rosslare Community Centre this Thursday 12th November. The primary aim of this extraordinary general meeting is to get all its members together to discuss the future of the Society and decide on the next steps.

It is anticipated the Society will join together with the Tidy Towns Committee of Rosslare with a dual purpose of developing a heritage trail and the putting up of approximately 10 plaques around the village depicting local historical events.

Both the Society and Tidy Towns committee are very excited about this scheme as it will give each and every visitor and local person an opportunity to walk around the village accompanied by an illustrated historical guide giving lots of interesting facts and information about the local history of the village.

The Society would urge all members and persons interested in the history and beauty of our village to come together at this meeting and take the Society and Tidy Towns a step further in making Rosslare a great historical/beautiful destination.
