Adamstown

Cards

The weekly '30' Card Game continues in the Community Centre this Friday 20th Nov at 9pm. Thanks to ladies for the teas last week. Catering on Friday 20th will be: Brigid Boland, Edel English & Fiona Power. On the 27th: Mary Delaney, Sheelagh Delany, Catherine O'Rourke & Elizabeth Greene. Proceeds going to Parish Funds.

Adamstown Lotto

The winning numbers in the Adamstown Lotto Draw on Mon 2nd were 8-10-28-29. There was no jackpot winner with just one match three player - T. McLoughlin C/O Paul Cullen who received €200. The next draw takes place on Monday 16th November in Cullen's Lounge for a Jackpot of €14,200.

Athletic Club

Well done to all those who ran at Day 3 of the Leinster Cross Country Championships in horrendous conditions in JFK Park New Ross on Sunday 8th November.

The athletes who braved the elements were Bobby McDonald, Watt Crean,Grainne English, Sadbh Crean, Niamh and Katie English, Isobel English, Donny McDonald, Ciara Mooney, Robert Wall, Aoibhinn Crean, Luke Byrne, Mairead Crean, Kate Jackman, Triona Mooney, Sonia Mooney and Annalise Crean.

Well done to Luke Byrne who finished in 9th place as an individual in Boys U15 race. Luke has qualified for the All-Ireland Cross Country Championships.

Also qualifying for the All-Ireland Cross Country Championships are Niamh and Grainne English who were part of the Girls U11 Wexford team that finished in 3rd position and Robert Wall who was on the Boys U13 Wexford team that finished in 4th position. Katie English and Aoibhinn Crean were part of the Girls U13 Wexford team that finished in 5th position.

Kate Jackman and Sonia Mooney were part of the U15 Wexford team that finished in 7th position and Luke Byrne was also part of the Boys U15 Wexford team who finished in 5th place. Well done to all our athletes who ran in these terrible conditions and best of luck to the 4 athletes that have managed to reach the All-Ireland Cross Country Championships.

Congratulations and well done to our U21 Hurlers who won the U21 premier County final last Sunday in Wexford Park, on a score line of 1-15 to 2-6. First time we ever won Premier grade on our own, Well done and congratulations to all players, Managers and supporters who despite the weather were there cheering the team on.

ICA News

There will be a Mass for the deceased members of Bree ICA on this Tuesday night November 17th at 7.30pm and the monthly meeting will take place in the Community centre afterwards. The competition is a hand tied bouquet of autumn foliage. New members very welcome.

Winter Fun Run/Walk

Bree Youth Club are organising a Winter Fun Run / Walk on Sunday December 13th starting at 2pm from Bree Community Centre. This will be a timed event and there will be prizes for the first male and female home and also sport prizes for walkers. All entrants will be included in a free raffle on the day. Entry fee is €10 for the 10k Run and €5 for the 5k Walk. All levels of fitness welcome. Refreshments will be served afterwards in Bree Community Centre.

Bree AC News

The Winter League commenced on Sunday last in Enniscorthy track for U8 to U16s. In the U8 section Chloe Casey was 5th Leah Bolger was 9th and Erin Ryan was 14th.

Further dates are Novembeer 21st in New Ross Track, November 29th in Ferns and December 5th in Volunteers pitch in Wexford with a party afterwards. Races begin at 2pm with registration open from 1pm. Cost €3. High Jump training takes place in Galbally Hall at 7pm each Saturday night for U10s and upwards.

Macra News

If anyone is interested in taking part in indoor soccer please get in touch as the club is taking part in the county finals on Sunday next, November 22nd.

Best wishes to the Public Speaking team of Sinead Doyle, William Spratt Murphy and Cathal Byrne competing in the intercountys round next Saturday evening. Their topic for discussion is 'Homelessness'.

The Bree team of Stephen Donohoe, William Spratt Murphy, Damien O'Neill, Aine Doyle, Sinead Doyle and Michelle Allen competed well in All Ireland Final of the Bowling competition last weekend in Tullamore.

Hope

The Hope Cancer Support Centre would like to thank everyone for their generosity towards their recent Church Gate collection.

The total amount raised was €140.65.

Bree Youth Club

Well done to the Bree Youth Club U18 Boys' team who won the FDYS County 5-a-side Soccer Blitz and will now represent Wexford in the National Youth Games. Team members were Chris Byrne, Aaron Murphy, Enda Minogue, Nick Doyle, Shane Fenlon, Peter Kelly and Dean Doyle. Well done also to the two U15 teams.

The Blue team lined out with Daragh Cloke-Rochford, John Kehoe, Ronan Byrne, Eamonn Doyle, Peter Rodgers and Liam Doyle and made it to the U15 final losing narrowly 1-0.

The Red team of Tadhg Malone, Joe Cahill, Lewis McCommiskey, Ronan Page and Conor Rodgers was a much younger team, with some of the boys only 12 years of age and did brilliantly winning their first game against much tougher opposition.

Thanks to Lar Rochford, Emma O'Neill and Mark Rodgers for managing the teams and to Eileen Murphy and Nicholas Delahunty for all the hard work in the back ground.

The final date for return of signed permission forms for the summer trips is Friday November 20th. First instalment of payment is also due on this date.

Unfortunately there can be no exceptions to the deadline as the adventure centres will be notified of numbers travelling on Monday 23rd.

Camogie Notes

The AGM will take place on Saturday 21st November at 7.30pm in Oylegate community centre. If you're interested in helping out with a team please contact Christine or Margaret. New skirts will be available to be purchased on the night. Registration forms for new players will also be available. All welcome to attend.

Christmas Craft Fair

The Holy Family school will hold a Christmas Craft and cake fair in the school on Saturday 5th December from 2 till 4.

The children of the school will be making and creating great things over the next few weeks to sell on the day. We will be holding two workshops in the school for two afternoons before the event on Saturday 21st and 28th November all children and their parents are welcome to come along and help with the creations.

We will be looking for some recyclable items like Jam Jars all sizes large plastic mineral bottles,scraps of material in festive colours and bottle tops, any old x mas baubles and decorations you might have, please leave all into school during the coming week, there will be a box in the hall.

Note re calendar

The Parents Association are delighted to announce that they are organising a school calendar which will be on sale at the upcoming Craft Fair on Saturday 5th December. The exciting part of the calendar is that it will include all of our school children. The children will be grouped in accordance to their birthday month and 12 photos will then be taken. This will create some great monthly memories for planning 2016 on the calendar.

The photos will be kindly be taken by Joanne Grant (Joannegrantphotography.com) on Tuesday morning 17th November. If you would rather your child is not photographed and included in the calendar please let Suzanne know in the school office on Monday 16th November.

Huge congratulations to Breanna Sludz Keane and Christopher Kelly who returned from Hungary having taken part in the Europian Kickboxing Championships bringing home Two gold and a Silver medal between them

Story Telling Group

The next story telling session will take place in the Old School Centre on Wednesday 24th November at 8pm. All are welcome to come along and join us for an evening of song story telling and music, so if you can play an instrument sing a song or tell a story we would love to see you there, but if you would just like to come along and enjoy the entertainment that's ok too.

Admission is free and there will be Tea and Refreshments served on the night. Looking forward to seeing you there. There is ample amount of parking for cars at the back of the centre, so please drive right up behind the building

Church Gate Collection

The Church Gate collection taking place this weekend at both Masses is in aid of Trocaire s Emergency Refugee Crisis Appeal. All donations will be greatly appreciated.

Youth Club

There will be youth club in the Oylegate community centre on this Friday evening November 20th from 8.00 to 10.00pm. The supervisors for the evening are Ray Quigley, Margaret Quirke, Mary McCauley, Michelle Murphy, Paul Burns and Kate Shannon.

Coffee Morning

A coffee morning will be held on Thursday November 20th at 11.00am in aid of the SERT bus that bring patients to Waterford for treatment. The service is completely voluntary. The group is always in need of funds, so your support would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to seeing you all on the day.

GAA Lotto

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot held in Mernagh's Lounge, Oylegate on Wednesday November 11th. The lucky dip winners were Marie Rowley, John Whelan, Patricia Doran, Willie Kavanagh, John Reck, Sean Quirke, Celia Nolan and Margaret Rowe. The next draw will be held in the Slaney Inn, Oylegate on Wednesday November 25th. Tickets cost just €2 each and are available from club members.

Fundraising Draw

Oylegate/Glenbrien GAA club are holding a fundraising draw to help pay off the debt on the field. The first prize is €5,000 and all other prizes are cash. Tickets cost €10 each or 3 for €20. Ticket sellers and/or drivers are required to help out with the fundraiser and all help would be greatly appreciated please contact any committee member.
