GAA Lotto

The St Fintans GAA lotto now stands at €11,700 and tickets can be purchased from local shops and the club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8pm and from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match three prize of €300 up for grabs each week and Carita Crean, Ann Newport and Emily Newport shared in this prize with the following numbers drawn last week 3,5,9,29. Forever Fit

Dancefit/Bodytone Classes in Ballycogley continues on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.30 p.m. and Thursdays at 10.00 a.m. Also 'Forever Active over 55's' ~ Mondays at 11.30 a.m. a more gentle exercise class to music.

Table Quiz thanks

The Ballycogley Players held a very enjoyable fundraising table quiz in the Hideout Tomhaggard during the past week the proceeds from which went to the Tomhaggard social center. Although numbers were down the heat from the coal fire,the competitiveness of the quiz and the overall athmosphere made it a very enjoyable night.

The group would like to thank those that supported on the night,those that made generous donations,the winning team that donated the first prize and Stephen and Trish for supplying some lovely finger food at the break. A further quiz is planned so watch this space.

Parish Council

The Ballymore/Mayglass parish council held a very enjoyable senior citizens christmas party in the Danby Lodge Hotel during the past week. Those attending were treated to a lovely meal,followed by music,song,dance and comedy. The parish council must be complimented on once again providing a great night for our senior citizens. A big thank you also to the Danby Lodge and its staff for the lovely meal and overall catering.

Bargy Vintage Club

Barry Vintage Club Xmas party in the Coopers next Friday night the 18th. We will also be presenting three local charity's with cheques of €1500 each, money we raised from our summer BBQ and road run in September.

A raffle will be held on the night with all proceeds going to Fr Leo Staples to support his missionary work in Kenya. Anyone wishing to donate to this worthy charity may do so by calling to the Bank of Ireland, Roslare Harbour.

All are welcome and many thanks for all your support during the year.

Women's Shed

The Women's Shed held their Christmas lunch in Tomhaggard social centre on Monday December 7th. It was a very sociable occasion with all the ladies bringing salads, bread, desserts and the customer mulled wine. Guests of honour were Jim and Rose Hurley with Carmen from Raheen where the founding members attended Craft Classes also in attendance. The shed will meet again on Monday December 14th and will then break for Christmas and resume again on January 11th 2016. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas.

Scouts

The Annual scout investiture takes place on Wednesday December 16th at 7pm in Tomhaggard social centre. This is the highlight in the year for the young people making their scout promise before family and friends.

All sections have been busy making decorations for a pioneering project Christmas tree which will form part of the ceremony. Beavers went on annual trip to the cinema last weekend.

Meetings will resume after Christmas early in January. We plan on attending the Wexford Panto in January, more details closer to the date.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and scouting community of 55th Dublin who bid farewell to one of their youth members who died following an accident off Hook Head recently. She has "gone home" to rest in peace.

St Fintans Ladies

A big thank you to everyone that came to our Christmas party/presentation night in Leisure Max on Friday evening last and a great time was had by all. Thanks to the staff of Leisure Max who entertained the girls with games,singing,dancing and bowling. We would like to wish all our players,parents,supporters and committee members a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

GAA Club Membership

The GAA membership year runs from April 1st to the following March 31st. Persons must have their Club fees paid on a date prior to March 31st as laid down by the Club, and be registered in order to have a vote at any Club meeting in the upcoming membership year.

Therefore, if the Club has a special general meeting in June, it is those who paid their fees prior to the previous deadline and have been registered that are entitled to vote. If a person pays their Club fees in Januaryfor the first time, or following a lapsed membership period, he/she will not have a vote in the Club until the following membership year on April 1st.

Duncormick Shop

Variety Group

Rathangan Variety Group will entertain you with some Christmas Carols outside all Masses in Rathangan and Cleariestown on the 19th and 20th December. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Rathangan Variety Group's production of "Calamity Jane", will be performed in Rathangan Hall on 17th ,18th & 19th February 2016 in Rathangan Hall, more details to follow in the New Year. The Group would like to wish you all a happy and safe Christmas and all the best for 2016

A Choral Celebration

Rathangan parish choirs will host an evening of musical entertainment, on Tuesday, 15th December from 7.30pm-9.00pm in Rathangan Church. Admission is free. Entertainment will be provided by Rathangan Junior Choir (4th-6th class), St. Anne's N.S. Grúpa Ceoil (4th-6th class), Bridgetown College Choir, Rathangan Senior Choir and other guest artists. Any choir interested in taking part in this celebration should contact Mairéad Redmond at Bridgetown College, to be included in the concert. All are welcome.
