Oulart

Bereavement

The sympathy of the community is extended to the family of the late Joe Murphy, Knockskemolin, Oulart on the death of an exemplary member of the local community who was loved and respected by all who were fortunate to have known him.

Obituaries have been already published detailing his service as a member of Wexford Co. Council and his long and distinguished playing career with Buffers Alley GAA. Here in Oulart we will remember him as a devoted family man, a helpful and caring neighbour and a local leader who was always ready to serve his parish and the local community.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter Betty (Doyle) sons Michael, Eoin and Barry, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brothers Pat, Liam, Mikie and Jimmy; sisters Mai Sinnott and Lil Nolan, nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends. His wife Marie (nee Nolan) and daughter Catherine predeceased him.

The late Mr. Murphy was laid to rest in Oulart after requiem Mass on Sunday 6th December. Solas na bhFlaitheas dá anam dílis. Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís.

GAA Club History

As a first step towards researching and recording the history of our illustrious GAA, club it is intended to compile a collection of photographs, documents and cuttings dealing with all aspects of Oulart-The Ballagh GAA. Materials dealing with the early days of the Association are hardest to come by and so an appeal is being sent out to anyone with any such stuff, from any era, to make them available to the researchers. Be assured that all items submitted will be treated with the care due to all precious historical documents and will be returned promptly to their owners. Contact Breda Jacob (086-1686978 or 053-9136141) or email mickjacobjr@yahoo.co.uk if you can provide material to help with this project.
