Our Lady's Island
Tacumshane Old School Development will be hosting their first coffee morning of the new year on Sunday 31st January at 10.30am, come to the hall and enjoy a tea or a coffee and most of all enjoy the great talent of local woman Rose Morris. Rose a very talented painter will have works on display for all to enjoy and appreciate, she currently has a piece "Nativity" on display in Tacumshane Church and its well worth a look or alternatively check out our Facebook page for a sneak preview.
A 'Night by The Fire'
An evening of local storey telling, song and music will take place in the Old School on Friday 5th February at 8pm. Local story tellers, musicians and singers will perform for a 1-hour impromptu session in the warm cosy mood lit hall. So come along dust off the new years cob webs and experience a relaxed evening with a difference. Admission is free and all are welcome, tea coffee and biscuits will be served at half-time interval.
Old School Cards
On 12th January nineteen played and the winner was Margaret Doyle with four games, William Burke and Aidan Power coming joint second with two each. Fintan Carroll won the steaks, again!
Cards continue every Tuesday at 8.30 sharp in the Tacumshane Old School, winner takes % of pot, house prize, tea and coffee served. All welcome
As there was no winner of last week's Jackpot, Our Lady's Island G.A.A lotto now stands at €12,900 and tickets may be purchased from local shops and from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match-3 prize each week and Rosie Doyle (seller D. Maloney), Nicky Clarke (seller Caroline Ellard) & Jess Codd (seller Caroline Ellard) shared in this prize last week. The winning numbers 1, 4, 10, 21. Thanks to all for your continued support.

There was no winner of last week's jackpot of €12,600 The winning numbers were 1,4,10,21. Congratulations to the eleven match 3 winners who each received €28. Date for the Diary
Rathangan Variety Group's production of "Calamity Jane", will be performed in Rathangan Hall on 17th ,18th & 19th February in Rathangan Hall.
Sunny South East Strollers/Striders meet every Monday evening at 7pm, (except Bank Holidays and weather permitting. We would like to invite anyone who would like to get out for a stroll/walk, who may have very low fitness levels.
We have starter strolls for the month of January where we can start off with 10/15 minutes, taking small rests if necessary. The Strider Group will also meet at 7pm and walk for 35-45 mins. We have a cup of tea/ coffee & most importantly a chat afterwards.

Following the success of Operation Transformation in 2015, St. Anne's Coiste na nOg are running Operation Transformation again this year. An 8 week programme to improve your fitness & maybe lose some weight continues until 29th February. There will be a one night per week group walking/jogging nights and Building up to a 5/10 km Walk/Run on weekend of 5th/6th March. There will be a Nutritional talk during programme also step monitors available for all participants. The programme is open to men and ladies. Each participant will receive a sponsorship card as this is the Coiste Club main Fundraiser for the year.
The Credit Union School Quiz will be held in Rathangan Hall on Friday 29th January. All welcome.
St. Anne's N.S.
A School Secretary is required for St Anne's N.S., Rathangan. Candidates should have 1-2 years' previous administration experience, have excellent communication and IT skills. Experience in basic accounting an advantage and candidates must be honest, reliable and discreet. The position is Monday to Friday 9:10am-3:10am till 30th of June.

THE BIGGEST LOSER
St. Marys Rosslare GAA are running the Biggest Loser, this is a fun weight loss program. As part of the Biggest Loser there will be 3 events, 5km fun Run or walk on Sun 31st Jan, 10km Fun Cycle on Sunday 21st February and a 5km Cross country on Sunday 6th March. We will be providing the Complex for people to train for these events. Registration for the Biggest Loser is €10 and you will be given a sponsorship card on the night also. All events are then free to enter. Anyone who doesn't wish to register but may like to take part in the 5km runs, walks or 10km cycle can do so but must pay €10 per event.
Camogie Club news
St Mary's Camogie Club will hold a Meet & Greet & Registration Morning at 12 noon on Sunday 7th February at the Clubhouse in Tagoat. All parents and players are invited to our Meet & Greet and to Register to play for the 2016 Season at the Clubhouse in Tagoat . Meet the Coaches and Committee and have a cup of tea. Registration for the year is €40 per child, €55 per adult and €10 per non -player.

svp Collection thanks
St Patrick's conference of St Vincent de Paul wishes to express their sincere thanks to all who contributed to the recent St Vincent de Paul Christmas collections.
Thanks to Fr Desmond, Des & Allen Murphy, Supervalu, Theresa's Convenience Store and Quick Pick who facilitated the collection boxes as well as our toy and food appeals. Thanks also to Broadway NS and the other local groups and individuals who gave additional personal or workplace donations.
The church gate collection amounted to €903, Supervalu €1,110, Other donations €609 Total €2,622. Together with the summer collection these funds are a significant contribution towards meeting the needs of our local conference.
Your generous community support is very much appreciated and all contributions received are distributed, without any deductions, by volunteers, in our own area throughout the year .

Kilrane/Rosslare Harbour ICA held their guild meeting in the Community Centre , Kilrane on 6th January when the president, Carmel Lonnergan, welcomed the members back after the Christmas break. Members agreed that the Christmas lunch at the 'Yard', Wexford had been a great success and a most enjoyable one.
It was a very brief business agenda this month when plans for the year ahead were discussed with many interesting suggestions made. The cards school restarts on 13th January. Meeting for Bowling on 11th January at the LeisureMax, Wexford and it was decided that members go bowling every fortnight, if possible.
After the business was over the members sat down to a very enjoyable and hilarious fun quiz. The meeting ended with the president wishing everyone the very best for 2016. The next guild meeting will be on Wednesday 3rd February. New members always welcomed.

There will be no meeting of Tidy Towns until 27th January. This Wednesday's meeting (20th January) will be replaced by a seminar to discuss the many elements of Rosslare as an Age Friendly place to live. This Seminar is in Community and Sports Centre at 10.30am. We strongly recommend that you attend.
