The weekly '30 Card Game continues in the Community Centre this Friday 22nd January at 9pm. Catering on the night will be: Breda Whelan, Deirdre Whelan & Bessie Fortune. Catering on Friday 29th January will be: Siobhan Hynes, Rosie Siggins & Maura Barden. Proceeds going to Parish Funds.

Registration forms are now available for 2016. Training for all athletes will resume on Thursday 21st January in Adamstown Hall. Sportshall Athletics will take place in February and therefore all the younger athletes will be training to participate at this event. We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday 21st with their registration forms and money.
The Athletics club will be hosting a Fashion Show in the Horse and Hound on Friday 19th February. The event kicks off at 8pm sharp. The fashion show will feature the latest fashion from Lulu's Boutique, Si Jolie Boutique, The Loft Wexford, Wallace's Wellingtonbridge and Helen's French and Danish clothing lines. Entertainment on the night by DJ Liam Sharkey. There will be a door prize and spot prizes and raffle on the night. Proceeds on the night will go to the Athletic Club and to Console. The next draw in the Adamstown Lotto takes place this Monday 18th Jan in Foley's Pub, Newbawn for a jackpot of €15,400. Do buy a ticket and be in with a chance, it could be your best spent €2.00. All proceeds go to Adamstown GAA Soccer Club & Parish Committee. When this Jackpot is won, the next will start at €8,700.
Wexford Hunt Canter
The Wexford Hunt Canter postponed due to bad weather, will now go ahead if land is dry enough on Sunday 31st Jan starting in Camross at 10am.
Elizabeth Booth r.i.p.
Sympathy is extended to Caitriona and Ray Whelan & Family, Fairfields, Adamstown on the death of Catriona's granny Elizabeth Booth, Enniscorthy who died recently. May she rest in peace.
Anne McLoughlin r.i.p.
Sympathy is extended to Josie Barden & Family, Doononey Adamstown on the death of Josie Barden's sister-in-law Anne McLoughlin Shanoule, Foulksmills who died on Friday Jan 8th she was predeceased by her husband Sean and son Aidan. Sympathy to her daughter Nuala, Son Shane, son-in-law Joe, daughter-in-law Karine, her grandchildren, relations and friends. Her funeral mass took place on Sunday 10th Jan in St Garvans Church Caroreigh Church. Burial afterwards in Kilgarvan cementary. May she rest in peace.
Dick Kavanagh r.i.p.
Our Sympathy is extended to Pauline Kavanagh, Paul O'Brien & Family, Oldcourt Adamstown, on the death of Pauline's father Dick Kavanagh, Cleariestown, who died Monday 11th January surrounded by his family. Dick was a people's person, a kind and generous man, he was well known in the Adamstown area as The Coal and Gas Man, where he delivered for many years. Dick had always time for a chat.
A large crowd turned out to bid a final farewell to Dick at his funeral mass on Wednesday 13th Jan in Cleariestown Church. It showed how he was held in high esteem by all who knew him. To Dick's wife, family, relations and friends, our sympathy. May his kind soul rest in peace.
Castle Vintage Club
Castle Vintage Club held their annual AGM in the Scout Hall, Taghmon last Friday night. Officers elected as follows: Chairman-Pat Monaghan; Vice Chairman-Martin Dunne; Secretary-Davie Maher; Vice Secretary-John Whitney; Treasurer-Karl Winters; Vice Treasurer-John Murphy; PRO-PJ Williams; Route Organiser-Noel Wall; Safety Officer-Paddy McCrea. Committee Members-Mick Foley, James Whitty and Ollie Cadogan.
We would also like to thank the outgoing secretary Mary White for all her hard work over the years. Any members wishing to travel on the May Bank Holiday 3 day run please attend the next meeting. Also, membership will be taken on the night.
The Cycle is this Sunday 24th January from Bree with the Walk / Run on Sunday 7th February from Bree. The Bog Run (Byrnes Bog), weigh out and closing event are on Saturday 27th February.

The Carrig and Wilton areas Biggest Loser team are holding a Table Quiz in Byrnes of Bree on Friday 29th January at 9pm. Cost of entry is €20 for a table of 4.
Bree Athletic Club
The AGM of Bree AC will take place on Monday 25th January in Bree Community Centre at 8.30pm.
Congratulations to Sophie McCabe on receiving a Leinster All Star Award at the presentation of Leinster Awards in the Seven Oaks, Carlow recently. Bree AC was also the recipient of the Leinster Shield Award for the best athletic club in the 9-11 age group in Leinster. Congratulations to all involved.
Indoor training for the younger age groups has resumed on Thursday evenings in Bree Community Centre at 7pm and for the older age group at 7.45pm. Outdoor training takes place on Monday and Wednesday evenings in the field. High Jump training takes place in Galbally Hall on Saturday nights at 7pm. Registration fees are now due.
Galbally Tractor Run
The Galbally Annual Tractor Run in aid of Galbally Parish Funds will take place on Sunday, 29th May.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the wife, sons daughters, relations and friends of George Doyle, Ballyhogue, to the husband, sons, daughter, relations and friends of Nora Malone, Bree Lane, to the sons, daughter, relations and friends of Bridie Byrne, Ballyhogue and to the father, mother and brother of William Tyrrell, Coolteigue, all of whom died recently.

Bree Tidy Towns Committee held their AGM on 11th January. Sheila Moriarty and Josephine Byrne stood down from their positions as Chairperson and Secretary respectively, having given 15 years of invaluable service to the organisation and the community, for which they are owed admiration and thanks.
New officers elected were Syl Doyle, Wilton Chairperson, Jutta O'Meara Secretary, Paud Moriarty and Billy Cosgrave joint Treasurers, Mairead Curtis, Josephine Byrne and Sheila Moriarty - Committee Members.
Due to the small numbers in the organisation and the huge workload involved in preparing a submission to enter the Tidy Towns Competition, we are anxious for new members to join to help.
The next meeting will be held in the Community Centre on February 22nd at 8pm.
The next lotto draw takes place on 20th January in Ryan's of Galbally at 8.30pm. Jackpot still remains at €10,000.
The Wexford Academy of Irish Dancing has resumed after the Christmas break. All new beginners are very welcome. Classes are taught by 3 fully qualified Irish dancing teachers. If you have any queries please contact Catriona on 087 7504818 or pm us on our facebook page.

Bree Penny Euro Bank
Bree Penny Euro Bank has resumed taking in savings for 2016 following the Christmas break. The Penny Bank is open to all members of the community who would like to save towards Christmas 2016 with amounts saved being distributed to the members at the end of November. Deposit envelopes are available from Byrnes Shop and Bree Post Office.
The organisers of the recent Churchgate Collection in aid of County Wexford Community Workshop, Enniscorthy would like to thank all who contributed to their recent collection. A total of €393.52 was collected and will go towards supporting people with disabilities through the work of the Community Workshop.

Clonard Children's/Family Liturgy Group: The children and leaders of the Children's Family Liturgy Group have resumed after the Christmas break. They meet every Wednesday night from 7 to 8pm. Clonard Thrift Fund
The Thrift Fund is now open on Friday nights from 7-8.15pm in the Community Centre Foyer.
Our first meeting for the new year will be held on Thursday the 21st January at 7.30pm in Coolcotts Community Centre. On the night we will have a speaker from Sam McCauley's doing a Benefit makeup demonstration. There will also be 10% off Benefit products on the night. The competition is anything to do with paper craft, so be really creative. Can't wait to catch up with you all and chat about the holidays over a nice cupán tae.

Happy New Year to everyone. Despite any rumours you may have heard, Clonard Football and Hurling Club is alive and kicking. Football training has started on Friday nights at 7pm at the North End Astro Pitch.
Tim McGrath is taking the training sessions, looking forward to giving the championship a good shot this year and the panel has been boosted with the return of a number of players. A new team manager will be appointed soon. Well done to Pierce O'Connor who played his part in Wexford Footballers win last Sunday.
