Tea Dance

The monthly Tea Dance will take place in Carrig Community Centre on Friday 19th February from 9.30pm, music by John Hogan Band. Refreshments served a night not to be missed.

Table Quiz

There is a Table Quiz in aid of Bannow/ Ballymitty Camogie on Wednesday 17th February in Tir Na NOg Wellingtonbridge at 8.30pm. Table of four is €30, table of four juniors €20. Raffle on the night refreshments served all welcome.

Grantstown news

There will be a Valentine's Special in the Tea Room at Grantstown Day Care Centre on SUnday 14th February from 11a.m. - 12 noon. We want to celebrate our Friendship around the community on this special day. Please feel free to come along and join us for a cup of Tea & cake. Corach Ramblers

This weeks "Split the Pot" took place in Staffords Pub, Tullycanna. The winner was Angela Hogan, Ballygow, winning a brilliant €877. Well done Angela! Ticket was drawn by Rory Stafford. Next weeks draw takes place in Breens of the Dirr at 6.30pm.

Our A team had a tough 1-0 win at home to Crossabeg this morning. The pitch was close to unplayable. A tough first half ended scoreless after Corach had the best of the chances. Corach upped the tempo in the second half and got their just reward after a good move involving Jon Reville, Niall Harney and finished off by John Staples. This win moves Corach above today's opponents.

The B Team and Ladies games were called off.

GAA club news

Well done to Marty Moran Tullacanna who represented the Club and recieved his award at the annual Seana Ghael night that took place in Ferrycarrig recently. Picture of him and his colleagues on our facebook page. A great night was had by all.

The lotto Jackpot was won at the last draw to Robert Nolan Camross. Numbers drawn were 5,13,23 and 27. This Tuesday money is €2,000. All monies and tickets to dropped down to the complex no later then 7.30. Tickets are €2 each or a book for €10 and can be purchased at the Post office Carrig, Seabreeze Laundrette Carrig, Tir Na Nog Wellington Bridge ,over in the Complex or any Club Officer.

The draws were made for both the Intermediate football and Junior Hurling. In football we have St. Josephs, Kilanerin,Ballyhogue, Taghmom and in the first round we play Clongeen. In the Hurling group we have Gusserane,Horsewood, Davidstown /Courtnacuddy, Shelmaliers and the Rapps with the first match playing against Davidstown /courtnacuddy. Best of Luck to everyone involved .

Membership for the upcoming season is as follows Player /Family 90 euro,Student 50 ,non player 40,U18-u16 30 and u14-u8 20. Each additional child is five euro less. All membership is to be paid before 29th February. After this date from 1st-31st March all Adult will go up by 10 euro and all underage five euro . DEADLINE for membership is 31st . March .

Table Quiz

A table quiz will take place in Stafford's of Tullicanna on Tuesday 23rd February at 9pm, table of four is €20. There will be a raffle and refreshments, with proceeds in aid of Ballymitty new hall building fund.

A Movie Night will take place in Ballymitty Hall on Sunday 21st February from 8 to 9.30pm, more details next week.

Drive in Bingo

The organisers of last weeks Monster Drive In Bingo wish to thank everyone who supported the bingo last Sunday and wish to let ye all know that the next Monster Drive in Bingo takes place in Ballymitty on Sunday 28th February at 3pm with €1500 in prizes.

ICA guild

In the months ahead we will be taking part in bowling and aqua aerobics and other activities. A Federation meeting will take place on the 29th February, 2016 in the Ferrycarrig Hotel. Our next meeting will take place on the 15th February, 2016 in Carrig Community centre at 7.30pm. The competition on the night is the nicest pet photograph. Hostess for the night is Aileen. We will be doing some flower arranging so don't forget to bring your flowers. New members welcome.


Dancing continues every Thursday night in Tir nOg-music this Thursday by Eugene Ffrench, Thursday 18th Jimmy Barnwell, Thursday 25th Noel Furlong and Brian Robb, Saturday 27th Martin Kearney and Art Supple-proceeds in aid of Ballymitty Handball Club.

Bridgetown Handball

Brian Busher was in All Ireland Third Level Colleges action in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan recently and came away with a well earned Silver medal. Representing Waterford IT he won through to the Final of the B singles after some hard fought wins on the way.

In the Final Brian played Ronan McNea of N.U.I.Galway and it was as close as they come, with Brian just coming up agonisingly short, losing in the tiebreaker 21-18, 14-21, 8-11.

It was a fabulous effort by Brian and a great achievement to get so far in a national competition. Well done Brian.

Ballycogley Players

After months of rehearsing, set designing & building, The Ballycogley Players are ready to hit the stage with this years 3 act production; 'The Cripple of Inishmaan'.

The play is a dark comedy penned by Martin McDonagh who links the story to the real life filming of the documentary Man of Aran. Set on the small Aran Islands community of Inishmaan off the Western Coast of Ireland in 1934, the inhabitants are excited to learn of a Hollywood film crew's arrival in neighbouring Inishmore to make a documentary about life on the islands.

Before The Players set out on their 3 act festival journey, director; Breda Hayes along with her cast & set crew will present this fantastic play in St.Michaels Hall, Thomas Street, Wexford on Friday 19th & Saturday 20th February at 8pm nightly. Admission is €10 at the door each night.

From 16th February the Loan Officer will be available in Cleariestown Credit Union every Saturday from 2pm to 5.30pm. From this date the Credit Committee will no longer meet members on Thursday evenings. The Loan Officer will deal with all Loan Applications and Loan Queries from this date. No appointment necessary.

Calling Local Businesses

The death of John Barry Crossfarnogue Kilmore Quay took place last week.John was a very well known person and for the past few years he has not had the best of health and sympathy to all his relatives and friends on their loss.

SCOPE opening hours

Kilmore SCOPE's Information office in Bridgetown has the following changes to its opening hours which have come into immediate effect: Monday 10am to 3.30pm. Tuesday and Wednesday 11am to 2pm.

5km/10km Walk/Run

St. Anne's Coiste na nÓg 5km/10km Walk /Run will takes place on Sunday 13th March at 11.30am. The funds raised will go towards the running of the Club so your support would be greatly appreciated. This event is open to anyone over the age of 16. Entrants should arrive at 10.30am to allow time to register. Registration will take place in the Clubhouse. The Entry Fee is €10.

Spring Fair

The parents association of St. Fintans National School Mayglass are hosting a Spring Fair & Wellness Day in Danby Lodge Hotel on Sunday 28th February from 11am to 6pm, Entry €5. There will be a vide variety of Holistic therapists available doing treatments for €10 including healing, massage, reiki, reflexology and lots more. There will also be craft, cakes, entertainment & jewellery stalls. Door prize and Raffle on the day.

From Saturday 13th of February the Credit Unions Loan Officer will be available from 14:00 to 17:30. All loans will be processed on a Saturday from this date. Loan will not be processed on a Thursday night from Thursday 11th February.
