After months of rehearsing, set designing & building, The Ballycogley Players are ready to hit the stage with this years 3 act production; "The Cripple of Inishmaan".
The play is a dark comedy penned by Martin McDonagh who links the story to the real life filming of the documentary Man of Aran. Set on the small Aran Islands community of Inishmaan off the Western Coast of Ireland in 1934, the inhabitants are excited to learn of a Hollywood film crew's arrival in neighbouring Inishmore to make a documentary about life on the islands.
Before "The Players" set out on their 3 act festival journey, director; Breda Hayes along with her cast & set crew will present this fantastic play in St.Michaels Hall, Thomas Street, Wexford on Friday 19th & Saturday 20th February at 8pm nightly. Admission is €10 at the door each night. We look forward to your support!
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Thomas(Tommy) Goff Ballymore who sadly died during the past week and who's remains were laid to rest in Ballymore Cemetery. May he rest peace.
Though it has been decribed as an easy "Tap Over" an injury time point from a free by St.Fintans man Donal Shanley secured Wexford the points when they took on Leitrim in Div 4 of the Allianz Football League.
In a game played in Bellfield Leitrim won the toss and opted to play with the wind but when the half time whistle sounded Wexford seemed to be in command with the sides level. Wexford were never in command and scarcely deserved the 0-14 to 1-10 victory with Donal scoring 4 pnts of the Wexford total.
Another St.Fintans man Jim Rossiter was introduced during the second half to bolster the back line. Well done lads , you are doing your club and county proud.
The weather played havoc again with the fixture list with no league or cup games going ahead due to the pitch conditions. Entry is just €2.

Finally our Fitness4All programme got off to a great start with a great crowd turning up for 5k walk in Johnstown Castle. We are going again next Sunday and we will meet up outside the café at 10:45
