The weekly '30 Card Game continues in the Community Centre this Friday 12th February at 9pm. Catering on the night will be: Mary J Furlong & Frances Gallagher. On Friday 19th will be: Angela Dooley, Elizabeth Doyle & Maria Carty. Proceeds going to Parish Funds.

The Athletic Club recently held their AGM at the Community Centre. There was a good crowd who attended on the night and the following people have been elected for the year 2016. The Chairperson is Edel English, Assistant Chairperson-Eamonn Crean, Secretary-Deirdre Crean, Assistant Secretary-Edel Crean, Treasurer-Ann Jackman, P.R.O. and Club Registrar- Susan O'Shea and Competitions Secretary-Marie Mooney and Susan O'Shea, Female Protection Officer-Sinead O'Gorman and Male Protection Officer-Gerry MacGabhann. Thank you to all the Committee members and to all who attended the AGM.
Well done to the 8 athletes who recently travelled to the B All-Ireland Cross Country Championships in Dundalk. The athletes who competed on the day were Jack O'Shea, Sadbh Crean, Ciara Mooney, Aoibhinn Crean, Kate Jackman, Ben and Robert Wall, Craig Wall. Congratulations to Aoibhinn Crean who managed to win a bronze medal as part of the U13 Wexford team. Well done Aoibhinn!
Well done to Joe Mooney and Ryan Carthy Walsh who represented the club at the Junior All-Ireland Indoors in Athlone last weekend. Ryan won his first medal of the year winning a gold medal in the Junior Mens High Jump. There was a number of athletes that travelled to Portlaoise with their respective schools for the South Leinster Secondary Schools Cross Country. Well done to Annalise Crean who managed to qualify for the Leinster Secondary Schools Cross Country.
The Athletics club will be hosting a Fashion Show in the Horse and Hound on Friday 19th February 2016. Our local shopkeeper Paul Cullen will be taking to the catwalk to model the latest fashion. The event kicks off at 8pm sharp. The fashion show will feature the latest fashion from Lulu's Boutique, Si Jolie Boutique, The Loft Wexford , Wallaces Wellingtonbridge and Helen's French and Danish clothing lines. Entertainment on the night by DJ Liam Sharkey. There will be a door prize and lots of spot prizes and a raffle on the night. Proceeds on the night will go to the Athletic Club and to Console. Tickets are €10 and are now on sale. Please support.

On Saturday 6th February the children from 5th & 6th classes took part in the Commitment Ceremony for Confirmation. They will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation from Mgr.Joseph McGrath, on 10th March in St. Abban's Church at 11am. We ask you to remember the children and their families in your prayers.
Tommy Goff R.I.P.
Sympathy is extended to Fiona & John O'Shea & family Fairfield's on the death of Fiona's uncle Tommy Goff, Ballymore. His funeral mass took place Wednesday 3rd February with burial in Ballymore cemetery. May he rest in peace
Tony Walsh R.I.P.
Sympathy is extended to Tom, John and Nick Walsh & families on the death of Tony Walsh, Murrintown. Tony was an uncle of the Walsh's. Tony's funeral mass took place in Castlebridge Wednesday 3rd February with burial in Castlebridge cemetery. May he rest in peace.
There will be an annual general meeting of the Adamstown Community Centre on Wednesday 10th February at 8.30pm. This meeting is open to all clubs, associations and users of the centre. Your attendance is greatly appreciated.
A meeting of Adamstown ICA was held in the community centre on Wednesday 13th January. There was a good attendance, art classes were arranged and they are going well. Our next meeting is in the community centre on Wednesday 10th February at 8pm. Our hostesses on the night are Mai Larkin & Geraldine Bradley.
Line dancing takes place in Raheen Community Centre every Wednesday night at 8pm. All are welcome.

Ash Wednesday: This is on 10th February. Blessed Ashes will be distributed after the 10am and 7pm Masses in Clonard.
Clonard Parish Radio: All Church services are broadcast on 92.9 FM. Please inform people who are sick or housebound so that they can join us over the airwaves. Masses: Saturday Vigil 6pm. Sunday's 9, 10, and 11.30am. Weekdays 10am and 7pm.
Our Lady Of Lourdes: In 1992, Saint John Paul II instituted the World day of the Sick to be held on the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes. So on Thursday 11th February at 2pm there will be a special ceremony of anointing and blessing of the sick in the Church of the Assumption, Bride Street. All are welcome.
Clonard Bereavement Support Group meet this Tuesday 9th February in the Shamrock Room from 7.30 to 8.30pm. Anyone with a recent bereavement in the family is invited to attend. The group offers prayerful support at this difficult time in your life.

table quiz fundraiser
The parents council of Mercy School, John's Road Wexford are holding a fundraiser table quiz in the Riverbank House Hotel at 8pm this Thursday 11th February, €20 per table of 4 people, great spot prizes and all proceeds go towards the school.
Pantomime returns to Oylegate with the staging of Jack and the Beanstalk, in Oylegate Community Centre on Thursday, Friday, Saturday February 18th-20th at 8 p.m. nightly and on Sunday the 21st February at 7 p.m. It promises to be a great night of fun and frolics for young and not so young. For bookings phone 053 9138192. Admission is €10 per adult and €5 for primary school children. Early booking is advised as the show is only being staged for four nights.
On Saturday 13th February there will be a fundraising night in aid of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust, in the lounge of Mernagh's Pub in Oylegate. The Trust bring children and young adults with special needs to Lourdes at Easter. Live music will be provided by The Jumptones from 9:00pm until late on the night. Entry is 5euro and there will be a door prize and a raffle on the night. If you wish to support the event in advance tickets are available from Danielle 086 8941580 or Theresa 087 9714323. Come along and enjoy a night of great music while also supporting a very worthy cause.
Sunday night 14th February is the next date for Social Dancing in Oylegate Community Centre. Music on the night is by the popular Dave Lawlor who makes a welcome return visit. Dancing is from 9.30p.m. Admission is €8 with the usual tasty refreshments for everyone. Come along for a lovely night's entertainment.

Holy Family PS
The Holy Family PS and Parents Association would like to say thank you to all the Parents and Grandparents of the children in the school for their fantastic support on Thursday last, as we hosted yet another fantastic grandparents day. The children entertained everyone with a selection of poems, songs and music, while all the grandparents sang along in the final singsong. The children also got a chance to show their grandparents off to their friends!
A very enjoyable day was had by all. Thanks to all the Parents for the lovely donations of home bakes, to the children and teachers for the entertainment and mostly to the special people who came along to be with their nearest and dearest, have the tea and the chat. This is now a much looked forward to Annual event on the Calendar
Tuesday 9th February is Pancake Day-if you can make some pancakes for the children on the day please let any member of the PA know-all donations greatly appreciated.
There is an Anti Bullying Workshop for all parents and guardians on Thursday 11th February in the school. This event will be hosted the national Parents Council in the school. Please confirm to the PA if you would like to attend.
Open Community Meeting
An Open Community Meeting will take place on Monday 22nd February at 8.00pm in the Old School Centre This is an open meeting and all members of the Community are welcome to attend.
There will be a registration night held on Friday 12th February from 7.30 -8.30pm in Oylegate Community Centre. We would ask that all players/parents/guardians attend. Membership for the year is as follows; Working Adults €80. Non-workingAdults/Students/U18/U16/U14/U12 €55. U10/U8 €35. Managers/Trainers/Social Members €25. Members are not insured until membership is paid.

Cyber Bullying talk
Barntown Parent's Association will host a Cyber Bullying talk for parents and guardians in the school. The talk will promote safer online use for children and will take place on Tuesday 9th March at 7.30pm. Due to the content of the presentation this talk is only suitable for adults. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
Glynn/Barntown Community Games are entering participants in the Co Wexford Finals of Art and Handwriting in March. If anyone Over 6 to Under 16 would like to compete please contact Sinead on 087 7784954 before 20th February.
