Thanks to those who supported our club table quiz on Friday evening last.

Our U.10s were in action again on Sunday evening in Bannow/Ballymitty's indoor hurling tournament playing Clongeen and hosts Bannow/Ballymitty.

Hard luck to our Minor footballers who were edged out of the O'Loughlin Cup by a mere point by St John's Volunteers at quarter final stage on Sunday.

CLUB REUNION

Tickets are available for the Glynn Barntown GAA, Camogie and Ladies Football Clubs on Friday 4th March in the Riverbank House Hotel at 8pm. Admission by ticket only. Tickets @ €25 each. Macra na Feirme

Camross Macra na Feirme had their monthly meeting this Wednesday past. Membership is now being taken for 2016 and all new members are very welcome. The club is holding sports every Wednesday night in Camross Hall at 8:30pm. We are now hoping to start a tag rugby team this coming Wednesday night at 8:30pm in Camross Hall. All are welcome.

There is a table quiz in Quigleys on Friday 19th February at 9pm. It's a sports table quiz in aid of William Carley, a particpant in Da Brawl in Da Hall Boxing tournament Kilmore V St Fintans which will take place in Bridgetown college gym on 12th March. Please support the quiz on Friday night.

Bridgetown info Evening

Bridgetown Community Development are holding an Information Evening in the AOH Hall on Wednesday 24th February at 7pm to discuss our tidy towns application for 2016, 1916 commemoration and upcoming events, please come along if you want to get involved or just want to hear more about what's going on for 2016. Drama Time

After months of rehearsing, set designing & building, The Ballycogley Players are ready to hit the stage with this years 3 act production 'The Cripple of Inishmaan'. The play is a dark comedy penned by Martin McDonagh who links the story to the real life filming of the documentary Man of Aran. Set on the small Aran Islands community of Inishmaan off the Western Coast of Ireland in 1934, the inhabitants are excited to learn of a Hollywood film crew's arrival in neighbouring Inishmore to make a documentary about life on the islands.

Before 'The Players' set out on their 3 act festival journey, director; Breda Hayes along with her cast & set crew will present this fantastic play in St. Michael's Hall, Thomas Street, Wexford next Friday 19th & Saturday 20th February at 8pm nightly. 90th Birthday

Death

The parish of Kilmore and surrounding areas were stunned to hear of the sudden death of Abbie Troy, Tomhaggard. Abbie was a very well known lovely young teenager, a very popular student in Bridgetown College and was also known as a very good all round sporting young girl. This correspondent cannot put into words how much of a tragedy the death of Abbie is, and sincere sympathy goes to all her family and friends on their loss.

Community / Text Alert

Over 70 people attended a public Information meeting on Thurday 11th February. Sgt Paddy Carley Crime Prevention Officer Wexford Garda Station, Sgt Brendan Costello, Liaison Officer Wexford Garda Station and Margaret Quinn, Text Alert Area Co-Ordinator, Muintir Na Tire addressed the meeting giving details of the process for setting up this scheme.

A committee was formed to move forward with this project and they include: Terry Rossiter, Lily Thomas, Mary Furlong, Jimmy Dempsey, Frank O'Connell, Carol Gray, Sean McCormack, Jack Roche, Tom O'Reilly, Sheamus Howling, John Sinnott, Ornagh Darcy.

This committee will meet on Monday 29th February at 7.30 with Margaret Quinn. other people are welcome to come along and join this group to ensure all roads and areas in our Parish are covered to receive information.

Once the scheme is established an official launch will take place. Information will be advised as it becomes available. for the moment, if you have any questions, please contact Ann on 087 6677411. A big thank you to everyone who turned out in such huge numbers for this meeting.

The local Active Retirement club have organised a Wellness & Challenging Times talk given by Linda Thorpe, Area Development Officer, Mental Health Ireland in St Martins Community Centre Piercestown on Tuesday 1st March at 2.30 pm. The Area Swimming finals which will be held in Ferrybank Swimming Pool on Sunday 28th February at 4.15pm sharp. Entry fee €3 per child. U8 and U10-one length, U12, U14 and U16 two lengths of pool. Well done to Maggie Morrissey, Margt O'Gorman, Poulpeasty and Marian Donnelly who finished in runner up position at the Co. final of the Federation Table Quiz held in Bree on Thursday 11th February. Congrats to Bree on winning the event and we wish them every success in the All Ireland in April. This Camross team have won the County final in 2014 and 2015. A great achievement.

Table Quiz

All roads will lead to Rochfords Lounge, Camross for the Camross Hall Table Quiz which will take place on Friday next, 19th February at 8.30pm. Table of four is €20. There will be a raffle and spot prizes. Liam Morrissey will be in the quizmasters chair. Come along and enjoy this annual social event.

GAA CLUB NEWS

Hard luck to our U21 football team who were beaten by Ballyhogue in the 2015 County final over the weekend 1-14 to 0-7, it brings an end to the 2015 season at last. Training is now in full swing for football and hurling on Tuesday and Friday nights at 7.30pm.

Our Intermediate team are playing St James next Saturday in the Tommy Murphy Cup Football tournament in Mersheen at 3pm.

To all players and members ,2016 membership fees are now due, please pay any member of the committee, Players is €65, Family €80, non player €50, Student €30 ,and Walk / Jogging track member €20.

The Lotto Jackpot was'nt won last week,the numbers were 10, 11, 12, and 30 and there were three match 3 winners, Helen Doyle Trinity, Molly Redican Dungeer, and Deirdre and Nicky O'Hanlon c/o Deirdre O Hanlon. Next weeks Jackpot will be €2,300.
