Ballymore/ Mayglass

GAA Lotto

The St Fintans GAA lotto now stands at €14,400 and tickets can be purchased from local shops and the club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8pm and from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match three prize of €300 up for grabs each week and Catherine Foley shared in this prize. Last weeks numbers were 14,15,20,28. Many thanks for your continued support.

Forever Fit

Dancefit Classes in Ballycogley continue on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.30 p.m and Thursdays at 10.00 a.m. Forever Active 55's +continues on Mondays at 11.30 a.m. a more gentle exercise class to music. Kilmore Forever Active 55+ is on Tuesdays at 2.00 p.m. All 'pay as you go' All Welcome! Call Amanda Burke on 0879713339 for info.

Fight Night

Tickets for the upcoming Fight Night St.Fintans V Kilmore in Bridgetown College Hall on Saturday March 12th are now available. Tickets at €15 can be purchased from Shane Sinders or Sharon Pettit. A local derby not to be missed, be sure to order your ticket before they are all gone.

St Fintan's N.S

Mayglass N.S. are now taking enrolments for 2016. If you are considering sending your child to Mayglass School there will be an information and enrolment evening in the school on Tuesday February 23rd at 7pm, all are welcome to attend.

Spring Fair

The parents association of St. Fintans National School Mayglass are hosting a Spring Fair & Wellness Day in Danby Lodge Hotel on Sunday February 28th from 11am to 6pm, Entry €5. There will be a vide variety of Holistic therapists available doing treatments for €10 including healing, massage, reiki, reflexology and lots more. There will also be craft, cakes, entertainment & jewellery stalls. Door prize and Raffle on the day. Full list of Therapies will be available on the Facebook page; Spring Fair & Wellness Day.

Club Gear

St.Fintans new Bodibro half zip and training pants are now available to order. Images of the new gear can be seen on the club facebook page "Official St.Fintans GAA". Gear can be ordered by contacting Sharon on 0861787498.

Split The Pot

Our 6th week saw another increase of the pot to €1,008. At the draw in the Bargy Bar the winning name drawn from the drum was Jason Pettit who will receive €504. The next draw will take place in Coopers In. Remember to pop your €2 in the Envelope to be in with a chance to win the weekly prize.

All Blacks AFC

After the wet spell fixtures are starting to get back to full steam again. Our youths had a great 4:2 away win against Ferns after trailing 2:1 at halve time. The goals came from Declan Lee, Jack Hendrick and Craig Carroll (2). Our u13 boys came from 3:0 down to win 5:3 away to Barntown with goals from Kyle Rankin, Rian Carroll, Arron Busher, Cormac Lyons and Evan Cullen. Our U11 boys lost away to Bridge Rovers with our goal coming from Eoin Kehoe. Our fitness group had another outing to Johnstown castle with more events to come.

Community Survey

You've had your say, now come hear the results! Join us in Ballycogley Hall on Thursday February 25th from 8-9pm. The BIC committee will be presenting finding and recommendations from the recent survey of community needs. Tea and coffee will be provided on the night.

St Fintan's gaa

Club membership is now payable with non playing membership set at €30. A membership registration night will be held in the Clubhouse, Ballymore on Tuesday 15th March at 8.30pm. Membership forms will be available on registration nights. Once registration is complete with Croke Park a unique member number will be issued along with membership card. Only members paid up by the March 31st deadline will have entitlement to a members vote at the AGM or any other significant club meeting.

Bicentenary Mass

St David's church, Mulrankin is celebrating its bicentenary this year and to mark this historic occasion Bishop Denis Brennan will join us to celebrate mass on Tuesday March 1st (St Davids Day) at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be served after mass and all are welcome.

Scouts

Scouts are attending a Skills training day in Piercestown on Sunday next following on from a Training weekend for Patrol and Assistant Patrol Leaders recently in Carne.

The fundraising Breakfast Morning in Kilmore hall, planned for March 6th (Mother's Day)has been changed to March 20th so that Mothers everywhere can be spoiled by their families

Women's Shed

The Shed this week will have the postponed programme of Eyecare with Laura from Ryan's Opticians and Marmalade making with Rose. On Monday February 29th we have second part of Positive Mental Attitude Course with Linda Thorpe. Open to the public with Refreshments served. See you at Tomhaggard social centre 10am-1pm

Drama

Ballycogley Players hit the festival circuit following two great performances in St Michaels Wexford at the weekend. They're in Kilmuckridge on February 24th, Fethard on March 5th (not festival), Kildare 7th, Wexford 11th, Ballinamore 13th, Carnew 18th, New Ross 21st. The play is The Cripple of Inishmaan by Martin McDonagh, a blend of comedy and drama, has been a huge success on professional and amateur stage over the past 20 years. Hope to see you along the way

Tomhaggard Centre

The Committee are delighted to welcome Brian Furlong who has been appointed as TUS employee, under Wexford Local Development scheme, at the Centre, working part time. Already the place is starting to shine. The plan includes a major cleanup of the exterior, maintenance, and painting.

Festival Opening

The Ballycogley Players drama group played a role at the official opening of the Wexford drama festival which was held in the Riverbank Hotel Wexford during the past week. Mary and Con Doyle together with Paddy Mc Guire played the "mammy"scene from the groups production of the Martin Mc Donagh penned play "The Cripple Of Inishmaan".

The group will perform in the full length play at the festival on Friday March 11th. Two other members of the group Breda Hayes and Rachel Murphy are members of the drama festival committee and the festival will open on Thursday March 3rd.

In The Saddle

Mayglass man Jamie Codd brought his tally of winners on the point-to-point circuit for the season to twenty when over last weekend he had three winners. He kicked the weekend off when he travelled to Kirkistown, Co Down to ride a winner for Jim Dreaper and he capped the weekend off when he rode a double at Punchestown on the Sunday. He is now hot on the tail of Derek O Connor in the National point-to -point Riders championship.

Minor Football

Our Lady's Island /St Fintans player Cathal Devereux was a member of a Wexford minor football team that travelled to Hawkfield centre of Excellence near Newbridge to take on Kildare in a Leinster league competition which incorporated a number of experiments regarding the playing rules. Though it took a 60th minute pointed free to rescue a more than deserved draw in a game which saw Wexford off to a good start. Cathal who played at corner back was a major contributor in a fine game of football.

Calamity Jane

Congratulations to Rathangan Variety Group on its production of Calamity Jane in Rathangan Hall during the past week. A special word of congratulations to the members of the Ballycogley players who were part of a very entertaining show. Shay Hannon,Terence O Byrne,Colm Doyle,Sharon and Gerry Mernagh all played a significant role in making the show what it was. A great nights entertainment.

Information Evening

Bridgetown Community Development Group are holding an information night on Thursday February 25th in the AOH Hall. This will be an evening were we will show our projects for this year including Tidy Towns, 1916 comemeration project and upcoming events. Please come along lfyou want to get involved or just want to hear more about what's going on for 2016. All welcome.

Kilmore

'Da Brawl in the Hall'

Only 3 weeks to go until our major fundraiser for this year a 'fight night' spectacular against our favourite Sparring Partners-St Fintans. The event takes place on Saturday 12th March at 8 p.m. in Bridgetown College hall. Full bar available on the night.

Tickets at €15 each are now on sale and are available from any of our boxers, committee members or the usual retail outlets in Bridgetown, Kilmore and Kilmore Quay. There are a number of fundraising events being run by our boxers over the next few weeks, follow us on facebook or twitter for updates.

Breakfast Fundraiser

Noel and Nasher would like to thankeveryone who supported their fundraiser to raise funds for De Brawl In The Hall. Just over €1,000 was raised. They would especially like to thank Mary and everyone that gave up their Sunday to help. Without them it would not have been possible. Thank you all so much.
